At noon on December 23, Intel issued a public statement about the supplier letter.
The statement said Intel has great respect for China. We have a long-standing relationship with China.
We have a strong and ongoing commitment to China and our business partners, customers, employees and the public in China.
Intel's annual letters to suppliers have sparked media coverage and discussions, particularly in response to the chinese government's requirements for supply chain operations, which have aroused heated discussions and questions.
We thank you for your questions and concerns, and respect the sensitivity of the issue in China. As a multinational company, we are exposed to a changing and complex global environment. We should respond and deal with it with prudence.
While our original intention was to ensure compliance with U.S. law, we deeply regret that this letter raises many questions and concerns among our cherished Chinese partners. In this way, it is clarified that the paragraph on Xinjiang in the letter is only out of the original intention of expressing compliance and legality, and is not intended or expressed position.
We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused to our esteemed Chinese customers, partners and the public. Intel is committed to being a trusted technology partner that accelerates its development with China.
