The sudden appearance of "behemoths" on the streets of Los Angeles frightened the public into watching

According to Taiwan's "United News Network" reported on May 23, a huge space shuttle external fuel tank slowly advanced on the streets of Los Angeles on the 21st, and thousands of people watched and took pictures. When this oversized fuel tank is towed across the bridge deck of the highway, it forms a rare spectacular picture with the busy traffic below and the aircraft above.

The shuttle's external propulsion fuel tanks were towed to exhibition park

The 33-ton, 154-foot-long behemoth is reportedly the only remaining space shuttle external propulsion fuel tank from NASA. It arrived by barge on the 18th, and shortly after midnight on the 21st, escorted by a large number of police cars and fire trucks, it was towed by truck from The Marina del Rey in Los Angeles to Exhibition Park near downtown at a speed of about five miles per hour.

The costly hauling process, which was about 16.5 miles away and took more than ten hours before arriving at the exhibition park, was so exciting that adults and children were excited to see the fuel tank, taking out their mobile phones to take pictures or as a background for selfies. Sandy Magnus, a female astronaut, said: "This scene makes me feel that many people value our current space program."

It is reported that the fuel tank, called ET-94, will be exhibited with the decommissioned "Endeavour" space shuttle. (Intern Editor: Zhou Simin Review: Du Xiaofei)
