Just as Fujimura Shinichi was about to push Japanese history back to more than 1 million years, an unexpected event disrupted his plans.
Fujimura Shinichi graduated from high school, did not have professional archaeological training, just an archaeology enthusiast, the biggest hobby is to study paleolithic tools, in his spare time, he not only collected a variety of stone tools, but also mixed in the archaeological community to participate in various activities to make friends with scholars, and joined the field excavation. Therefore, despite being an amateur, Fujimura Shinichi is still very successful in the archaeological community.
In 1981, Fujimura Shinichi followed an archaeological team to excavate the "Zazazagi Ruins" in Iwaideyama Town, Miyagi Prefecture, and everyone scattered all kinds of excavations to dig up cultural relics that rewrote the history of Japan. At that time, the Japanese archaeological community subdivided the Paleolithic age into late (10,000 to 30,000 years ago), middle period (30,000 to 130,000 years ago), and early (130,000 years ago), and the surface layer of the "Zaza scattered wood site" showed that it was 40,000 years old, so as long as the relevant artifacts were excavated, the history of Japan was pushed to the middle neolithic period.

Later, Fujimura Shinichi dug up 48 stone tools in other corners.

In 1984, Shinichi Fujimura excavated Paleolithic tools from the 170,000-year-old surface layer.

After digging out the Paleolithic Tools from 700,000 years ago, Fujimura Shinichi was not satisfied, and declared that he would use the Paleolithic Tools of 1 million years old that were about to be excavated, and at the same time find fossils of early paleolithic people in Japan.
Shinichi Fujimura "hits almost every shot" and "makes a major discovery every time", which makes many Japanese people very curious and full of interest in his every move. Fujimura Shinichi, who was filmed, had no repudiation, but at first only admitted that he was "seduced", then said that he was hospitalized in order to avoid it, and finally had to bow down and apologize in front of the TV camera, and admitted that he had falsified evidence in at least 42 excavation sites, repeatedly borrowing the "hand of God" to falsify.
However, after more than two years of investigation, the Japanese Archaeological Society had to admit that at least 159 of the 178 archaeological sites in which Fujimura Shinichi participated in the excavation were suspected of counterfeiting. Among them, the archaeological site of Kami-Takamori, which allowed Fujimura Shinichi to continue to make major discoveries, was confirmed to have no academic value, and was later removed from the list of historical sites by the Japanese Archaeological Society.
The bigger blow is that the Fujimura Shinichi fraud case is a standard scandal that has had a huge impact on the reputation of Japanese archaeology and made it a laughingstock for the whole world. At the same time, the "long history" that Japan was once proud of became worthless, and the Japanese who were proud of the "long history" also poured cold water, and finally the Japanese textbooks had to step up the deletion of the Paleolithic expression in the book in large sections.
Fujimura Shinichi's forgery is simply to determine the age of the formation first, and then secretly bury the prepared stone tools in the formation, so that the "excavated stone tools" are equivalent to the age of the formation. The means of counterfeiting are not very clever and complex, but they have been concealed from almost the entire Japanese archaeological community.
First, the stone tools unearthed by Fujimura Shinichi are buried on the same level, and these stone tools are buried very shallowly, almost all on the surface of the soil. Due to natural causes such as earthquakes and water flows, the underground buried objects will change, basically will not appear on the same level, and only buried objects not far from the present will appear in the same native formation.
Second, every time there is an archaeological excavation, no one else has found anything decent, except for Fujimura Shinichi, who has always made amazing discoveries.
Third, from stone tools from 40,000 years ago to 700,000 years ago, all of them were discovered by Fujimura Shinichi.
Fourth, Shinichi Fujimura, who has been fruitful in excavations, has not even published a decent academic report.
As for the analysis of the stone tools excavated by Fujimura Shinichi, Japanese scholars have not found any problems in them before. But presumably, the stone tools used by the ancients hundreds of thousands of years ago and the forged stone tools used by the ancients today must be able to be judged one or two, so that modern archaeologists will not be completely unrecognizable.
