The 30th China Food Expo held jointly with the China (Wuhan) International Food Fair drew to a close on Dec. 6. Over 1,000 domestic food manufacturers registered as exhibitors and more than 1,200 food circulation companies participated. This year, RMB 9.72 billion in projects were signed at various promotional events and forums. Also onsite, RMB 700 million in orders were placed and RMB 380 million in deals were made.
The 30th China Food Expo & China (Wuhan) International Food Fair came to an end on December 6, with a total of 1,053 food production enterprises from all over the country participating in the exhibition, and more than 1,200 food circulation enterprises participating. Various promotion meetings and forum projects signed 9.72 billion yuan, on-site orders signed 700 million yuan, and on-site retail sales of 380 million yuan.

On the evening of Dec. 6, the 2021 Wuhan Fashion Week came to a close in the Red T Fashion Creative Block. With the theme of "Han · Chao," this four-day event featured 23 fashion shows at which nearly 500 new lines of clothing from 13 designers and 10 clothing brands were released.
On the evening of December 6th, the 10th Wuhan Fashion Week with the theme of "Han Tide" came to an end in Wuhan Red T Fashion Creative District. At the four-day 2021 Wuhan Fashion Week, 13 designers and 10 ready-to-wear brands jointly performed 23 fashion shows and released nearly 500 new models.

According to the General Administration of Customs, in the first 10 months of this year, the total import and export value of the Wuhan New Port and Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone reached RMB 11.17 billion, exceeding RMB 10 billion for the first time. With an increase of 317.1% over the previous year and 348.1% over the same period of 2019, the Wuhan New Port and Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone accomplished its annual import and export goal two months in advance.
Statistics from the General Administration of Customs show that from January to October this year, the import and export value of the Wuhan Xingang Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone reached 11.17 billion yuan, crossing the 10 billion yuan mark for the first time, an increase of 317.1% over last year, an increase of 348.1% over the same period in 2019, and the annual import and export target task was completed two months ahead of schedule.

2.5-generation of Chinese sturgeons bred in Wuhan

At the Hanyang Test Site of the Institute of Hydroecology under the Ministry of Water Resources and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, many baby Chinese sturgeons, several centimeters long, are happily swimming. Dr. Liao Xiaolin at the institute said that this batch of 65,000 Chinese sturgeons was born over 50 days ago and they were growing steadily. This is the first time that the 2.5-generation of Chinese sturgeons have been bred in an artificial environment in China.
In 1983 and 2009, China bred, by artificial means, the first and second filial generations of Chinese sturgeons. The present 2.5-generation has a first filial generation mother (born in 2005) and a second filial generation father (born in 2009).
On December 2, inside the Hanyang Test Base of the Institute of Water Engineering Ecology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a group of Chinese sturgeon several centimeters long was swimming happily. Dr. Liao Xiaolin said that this batch of Chinese sturgeon has been born for 50 days and has entered a stable period of growth, with a total of 65,000 tails. This is the first time that 2.5 generations of Chinese sturgeon have been artificially bred in China.
In 1983 and 2009, China artificially bred the Chinese sturgeon generation and the Chinese sturgeon generation. The 2.5 generation of Chinese sturgeon born this time is an "artificial combination" of the "mother" of the child generation (born in 2005) and the "father" of the second generation (born in 2009).

A high-speed train route connecting three Hunan cities, Zhangjiajie, Jishou and Huaihua, was put into service on Dec. 6. This route has a total length of 245 kilometers, and is designed for speeds up to 350 kilometers per hour. People in Wuhan can take the train to places in Hunan including Fenghuang Ancient Town and Zhangjiajie.
The Zhangjiajie-Jishou-Huaihua high-speed railway opened on December 6, with a total length of 245 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Citizens can take the high-speed rail from Wuhan to Fenghuang Ancient City and Zhangjiajie and other places.

A sailing race during the 2021 Wuhan Fitness Games took place on Dec. 4 at the East Lake Sailing Boat Base. The competitors aged between 7 to 15 were divided into two groups and sailed the Optimist (also known as opti or oppie) dinghies which are the beginner's boat in sailing for children and teenagers. Two hours later, the rankings of each group were released as the two rounds of competition ended.
"There are about 300 to 400 people constantly engaged in sailing practice in Wuhan. Sailing is known and recognized by more people for its unique charm," said Geng Huanjie, the Deputy Secretary of the Wuhan Water Sports Association.
On December 4, the 9th National Fitness Games sailing competition of wuhan in 2021 was held at the East Lake Sailing Base. A group of 7-15-year-old Wuhan players were divided into A and B groups, using a sailing boat of the OP class. After two rounds of competition for more than two hours, the rankings of each group were released.
Geng Huanjie, deputy secretary-general of the Wuhan Water Sports Association, said, "At present, the number of people participating in training in Wuhan all year round is about 300 to 400 people. Its unique charm is being recognized by more and more people. ”

Wuhan Library reopens
The Wuhan Library reopened
Wuhan Library reopened to the public on Dec. 9, as its maintenance nears completion. Citizens can visit Wuhan Library from 8:30 a.m. to 20:30 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday. The library is closed on Mondays except for national holidays.
The closure and maintenance of the Wuhan Library is basically completed, and it is scheduled to resume opening to the public on December 9. After the reopening, the Wuhan Library is open from 8:30 to 20:30 every day from Tuesday to Sunday; it is closed every Monday, except for national holidays.
