In the large-scale site upgrading project, the Tanheli site will use museums, major archaeological discoveries and ontological civilization sites as the carrier to show the formation and development process of bronze civilization, so as to guide public participation and gather social consensus. Let people share cultural achievements and benefit from the protection and utilization of cultural relics.
Why was the Tanheli site selected?
Located in Huangcai Town, Ningxiang City, Tanheli ruins are one of the few sites in the country, extremely rare in the south, and the only ancient city of Shangzhou in Hunan, which was discovered in early 1963, and archaeologists have carried out five excavations on this, proving that the Tanheli site was the capital of a certain country during the Shang and Zhou Dynasties.
Since the 1930s, the Tanheli site in Ningxiang and the surrounding neighboring areas have unearthed many batches of Shangzhou bronzes, reaching more than 300 pieces, most of which were excavated within a diameter of less than 2 kilometers with the site as the center.
For example, the Four Sheep Fang Zun, the Human Face Fang Ding, the Animal Face Pattern Urn, the "癸" 卣 (which contains more than 320 pieces of jade such as rings, jue, and guan), the "Ge" 卣 (which contains more than 1,170 pieces of jade such as beads and pipes), the cloud-patterned cymbals (accompanied by exquisite jade such as the out of the ring, the jue, the tiger, and the fish), and the elephant-patterned large jade (weighing 221.5 kilograms), all of which are the top products in the Bronze Ware of the Chinese Shang Zhou Dynasty, and are known as the "Ningxiang Bronze Ware Group" by the archaeological community. Ningxiang is famous at home and abroad for its "bronze town".
The discovery of the Tanheli site and the Tanheli culture fills the gap in the history of the Shang and Zhou dynasties in Hunan, and provides rich materials for the study of social production and economic life, social organization structure and social form, ethnic migration and cultural exchanges in the Shang and Zhou dynasties in Hunan and even the southern region. It not only has an irreplaceable position in the history of the development of Hunan civilization, but also has extremely important value in the history of Chinese civilization.
Give a thumbs up to Tan River!
