According to Zhejiang University, Zhu Liangbi, a teacher in the Department of Mathematics of Zhejiang University, died in Hangzhou at 8 p.m. on November 20 at the age of 108 due to ineffective medical treatment. Zhu Liangbi was born in November 1913 in Jinshan, Shanghai. He has published papers in the top four international mathematical journals, published papers in the top international mathematical journal Annals of Mathematics, and published articles in the same issue of the American Mathematical Annalith, as well as Einstein, Chen Shengshen and Siegel. Zhu Liangbi is also the only Chinese female mathematician to have published a paper in the Annals of Mathematics.
Zhu Liangbi is the wife of the late Chen Jiangong, a famous mathematician in China. Over the years, Zhu Liangbi has been quietly working in the front line of teaching, engaged in the teaching of the public course "Higher Mathematics", and cultivated a large number of outstanding mathematical talents for different disciplines of the school.

Immerse yourself in your studies
She has published papers in all four of the world's top mathematical journals
Turning over the old photos of the Department of Mathematics of Zhejiang University, you can see Zhu Liangbi's posture when he was young, beautiful and quiet. Under the figure of Xiu Zhu, there is a piece of pure feelings of science and service to the country - warm and enthusiastic, pure and strong.
From the early 1930s to the adjustment of colleges and universities across the country in the 1950s, when the mathematics discipline of Zhejiang University was mentioned, the academic community would say "Chen and Su" in unison, that is, mathematicians Chen Jiangong and Su Buqing. The Chen Su School, also known as the Zhejiang University School, was well-known in the 1940s, and stood on the international mathematical community with the Chicago School in the United States and the Roman School in Italy.
Mr. Chen and Mr. Su are patriots, and when they studied in Japan in their early years, they set a grand ambition to create a high-level mathematical teaching and scientific research base for our country. The Department of Mathematics adheres to the principle of "strict teachers and high apprentices", and the student number of the absentee in the class will be "published" in the school journal the next day; in the tutoring class, students take turns to do exercises, and if they can't do it, they will "hang up the blackboard"; in the fourth grade, the "mathematical research" course is a transitional stage for students to move from simple learning to independent research work, which is known as "the beginning of China's mathematical seminars".
In 1932, Zhu Liangbi was admitted to Zhejiang University, and a total of 10 students enrolled in the Mathematics Department in August; in July 1936, Zhu Liangbi graduated, and only 6 students in the grade were able to graduate as scheduled according to the academic system. Zhu Liangbi not only settled in it, but also stayed in the school as a teaching assistant.
In July 1937, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out in full swing, and in September Hangzhou was in an emergency, and Zhejiang University was forced to embark on the road of westward migration. Zhu Liangbi resolutely followed the school to move west, and traveled with the Mathematics Department.
Academic alcohol, perfect to the extreme. In September 1939, Zhejiang University added the Department of Mathematics of the Institute of Science of the School of Science, also known as the Institute of Mathematics, and the Department of Mathematics can recruit graduate students from then on. In September 1941, the Department of Mathematics was relocated from Zunyi to Chaohe Temple outside the south gate of Meitan. At that time, the entire Chinese currency depreciated, prices soared, it was difficult to live a difficult life, and it was difficult for teachers and students to eat, wear, live and travel, but the school teaching order was orderly and the learning style was very strong. It was in this environment and atmosphere that Zhu Liangbi was admitted to the Institute of Mathematics and became a graduate student.
In 1945, Mr. Zhu Liangbi published an article entitled "On the General Partial Sum of Fourier Series" in the American Mathematical Yearbook, a top journal of mathematics, and was published in the first article. Also published in the same issue of the American Mathematical Annals were Einstein, Chen Shengshen, and Siegel. Zhu Liangbi is also the only Chinese female mathematician to have published in this journal to date.
Zhu Liangbi is a Chinese scientist who has published papers in the Annals of Mathematics, Inventiones Mathematicae, Acta Mathematica, Journal of the American Mathematical Society, and all four of the world's top mathematical journals.

Awadomari Nari
The temperamental Kennesuke fully supports her husband's work
In September 1943, Zhu Liangbi and Chen Jiangong married in Meitan. In the years since, Zhu Liangbi and Chen Jiangong have used their sincere feelings for each other to compose the ordinary and extraordinary marriage and family life of the double mathematician.
Indifferent to fame and fortune, with a broad heart and a broad heart, is the long-term impression left by the elderly Zhu Liangbi on the students and juniors. In the 1940s, Zhu Liangbi was hired as a lecturer. In 1952, Zhu Liangbi was transferred to Fudan University as a lecturer. In 1958, Chen Jiangong went to Hangzhou University as vice president, and Zhu Liangbi followed him to Hangzhou University as a lecturer. She taught Higher Mathematics, which was open to departments, equivalent to today's public classes.
A former disciple, a professor of Zhejiang University who later graduated and stayed in school, wrote an article "Mr. Zhu without temper" for the "new" centenarian at that time, warmly recalling that Zhu Liangbi assisted her husband to silently help students, never "red face" with colleagues, and the younger generations will definitely send them out to visit the New Year... The pen and ink did not produce a thousand words, and the image of a gentle teacher and a virtuous inner helper had jumped on the paper.
Zhu Liangbi expressed his trust and support for his partner throughout his life in a pure and simple way typical of a mathematician. After 1962, Chen Jiangong concurrently served as the director of the Teacher Promotion Committee of Hangzhou University, leading the evaluation of teacher titles in the whole school, advocating that academic level be the only standard, so that teacher promotion truly became a benign mechanism to motivate teachers to work hard. In order to avoid suspicion, on the promotion of his wife Zhu Liangbi, Mr. Chen "hid" Mr. Zhu. This is a true story that has been circulating among the former teachers of the Mathematics Department of Hangzhou University.
"If this achievement is put into the present, she may be able to declare herself as an academician." And all this was sacrificed for Mr. Chen. In the memory of colleagues, "I never heard a single complaint from Mr. Zhu (because of the title and other things)."

Calm down
The three meals are regular and refreshing, and I like to eat small shrimp stewed water waves
In the eyes of his children and grandchildren, Zhu Liangbi is indifferent to fame and fortune, calm in the face of things, through the wind and rain and hardships, but always maintains a normal heart, "does not see the big joy and anger" "three meals are regular and refreshing, like small shrimp stewed water and eggs", is an old man who lives a long life with his heart.
Zhu Liangbi is currently the oldest-age man in Zhejiang University. The doctor at the community hospital said that all indicators of her body were still good, including her lung function. Considering that there had been a bad fracture, several children properly arranged for rotation to accompany them. The children, daughters and grandchildren have been taking care of the elderly for several years, from the perspective of medication, dressing, diet to the bed, the whole family knows, "standardizes the implementation", and praises the neighbors.
recall
In recent years, I have visited Mr. Zhu several times under the commission of the College, especially on his 100th birthday, which is still unforgettable. Mr. Zhu's voice was smiling, and his words were still in his ears. The contributions she and Mr. Chen Jiangong made to the development of the national society and the mathematical discipline of Zhejiang University are worthy of lifelong learning and eternal memory by our descendants. Mr. Wind Bone, My Generation's Model! ——Sheng Weimin, executive vice president of the School of Mathematical Sciences and deputy secretary of the party committee
I am a graduate student of Mr. Chen Jiangong, and Mr. Zhu Liangbi is my teacher's mother. Mr. Zhu was a good student who was diligent in research when he was a student, who had published papers in international top mathematical journals, was an excellent mathematician, and was also Mr. Chen's inner helper, who took care of his family and home, making Mr. Chen devote himself to academic research without distraction, which greatly promoted the development of mathematics discipline in Zhejiang University. ——Zheng Shiming, former deputy director of the Department of Mathematics of Hangzhou University and retired teacher of the School of Mathematical Sciences
