Ball World - Round-up Knicks all-time best draft Ewing is only third

Take stock of the best draft in team history

Although it has been a long time, the Knicks' fiasco in the last offseason is still fresh in my mind. They failed to get Durant and Irving in the free agent market, and they didn't even get any all-Star-level players. But because of their record, they had the opportunity to select Zion Williams. But as you know, they only got a number three pick and had to pick Barrett.

For the Knicks, zion Williams, who were originally signed and selected, may be able to change the status quo of the team, but unfortunately they failed to do so. However, as one of the oldest teams in the league, the Knicks still have many excellent drafts in history, and some of these players have directly changed the team's situation. Next, we will take stock of the best draft in Knicks history.

3. Patrick Ewing

He was the 1st pick in 1985

Patrick Ewing

Ewing was a 1985 debutant who is widely regarded as the greatest star of the Modern Knicks. The 7-foot tall, big man, who spent an impressive four years of college at Georgetown University, was recognized as the best player before that draft, along with Carl Malone, Joe Dumas and Chris Mullin at that draft.

Ewing won best rookie in his rookie season and was also named an All-Star, the real reason the Knicks have been an Eastern Conference playoff contender during his time with the Knicks. He led the team to the playoffs for 13 consecutive years, including 2 Trip to the Finals.

Ewing was named to the All-Star 11 times, the All-Team 7 times, the Defensive Team three times and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2008.

2. Walter Fraser

He was the 5th pick in 1967

Walter Fraser

Since the team's founding in 1946, the Knicks have won just two NBA championships, both of which were made during the time he played for Hall of Fame point guard Walter Fraser, who was drafted by the Knicks with the 5th overall pick in 1967 and is considered one of the greatest players in Knicks history.

In his 10 seasons with the Knicks, Fraser was named to the All-Star Team seven times and was named to the All-Star Team seven times, and he even won the All-Star Game MVP in 1975. At the peak of his season for the Knicks, he averaged 21.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game and led the team to his second championship in four years.

1. Willis-Reed

He was 8th in 1964

Willis Reed

The Knicks' most important player in the late '60s and early '70s was Willis Reed. Together with Fraser, he helped the team win championships in 1970 and 1973, respectively. Reid was drafted with the 8th pick in 1964 and during his 10 years with the Knicks he became one of the best players of his time. He averaged 18.7 points and 12.9 rebounds per game in his career. The Hall of Famer has many accolades, having won best rookies, seven All-Stars, five all-team, one defensive, and two FMVP and one regular season MVP.
