The 286-meter-long façade of the Old Jewish Cemetery, known as the "Wall of Names," is inlaid with more than 10,000 small metal boxes. The metal box is engraved with archives of Jews who were deported and killed between 1933 and 1945.
It was International Holocaust Remembrance Day. On 1 November 2005, the 60th plenary session of the General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution to designate 27 January of each year as the International Day of Holocaust Remembrance.
