Before filming, the two directors visited major prisons, and the male protagonist Robert also visited the Manhattan Detention Center.
Robert Pattinson did a lot of experiments to make others not recognize him, such as dyeing his beard, painting acne spots on his face, and sure enough, when shooting the last scene in Brooklyn, New York, he was wearing a security suit, and the occupants of the elevator did not recognize him as an actor.
Filming the scene where the male protagonist evades the police, the crew obtains permission to shoot on the street, the two directors themselves stand in the middle of the road arm in arm to block the traffic flow, the human flesh is closed to the street shooting, causing traffic congestion, Pattinson almost hit by the car.
One of the cops who appears in the amusement park is a crime profiler of the New York Police Department, and the bail agent is the real bail agent, and the emergency ambulance officer is also the real emergency ambulance officer.
When Robert Pattinson reached out to the Safdy brothers, the Good Times project didn't exist.

Joshua Safdie and Ben Safdie, the two post-80s directors of "Good Time", mainly direct independent films, while Pattinson mainly wants to work with directors with a more literary style and also wants to expand their own scenes, so he personally selects the two to work together.
Pattinson is very satisfied with the results of the cooperation between the two sides, "Good Times".
Pattinson wasn't sure at first whether audiences liked Good Times. In fact, before the Premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, Pattinson also made a bet with Joshua Safdi that if the film performed well at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, he would buy Joshua a Toto Mejoresbidet toilet in his apartment (this is not an expensive toilet, and it is said that Joshua liked it after using it). Pattinson finally kept his promise.
Movie Reviews · · · · · ·
The film uses large close-ups to shoot his brother Nick, without music or quick editing, which is very different from the style of shooting the robber's brother in the middle. With the resistance and acceptance of the cognitively impaired, and the brother's series of desperate acts in the middle, in the middle, two seemingly unrelated propositions are cleverly connected and echoed from beginning to end. Filled with magenta tones, neon lighting, experimental electronic music, and handheld shots, the director blends his visual symbols with his language style. "Good Time" is surprising to the director's ability to control, while retaining stylization, but also being able to control and coordinate the overall situation well, even compressing the length just right to less than 100 minutes. In such a tense time, the director not only told a story that was compact enough, but also highly unified his own set of film language system. (Tencent Entertainment Review)
The overall style of the film is rough, not only the laughter is frequent, the rhythm is tight, the plot is tense, and the electronic music throughout is also unforgettable. The film focuses on the life dilemma of people on the fringes of society, and is highly completed as a crime film. (Movie Network, Phoenix Network Review)
