Shaken Aymanov Kazakh Film Studios has announced that the Kazakh films "Muhahali" and "Bastards" will participate in the 25th Tallinn Film Festival.

The Tallinn Dark Night Film Festival, or PÖFF (Estonian: Pimedate Ööde Filmifestival), is the annual European A-category film festival held in Tallinn, Estonia, since 1997 and is the only film festival in the Nordic or Baltic region to be accredited by FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Associations).

The Tallinn Dark Night Film Festival includes official competitions, debut competitions, youth works competitions and other units. There is also a dedicated film market.

According to the festival organizers, this year's PÖFF main competition section consisted of a total of 19 films, including films that have already won awards and the premieres of many films. Kazakhstan this year selected two film productions, "Muhahali" and "Bastards", to participate in the Tallinn Film Festival.

It is worth mentioning that the main competition unit of this year's film festival also includes the film "Herd Immunity" by Kazakh director Adler Khan Yeljanov. In addition, the festival's youth film competition section includes the work "18 Hz" by another Kazakh director, Farhart Shazhepov.

According to earlier reports, the movie "Muhahali" was simultaneously released in major theaters across the country on October 21.
