Yonhap News Agency quoted Japan's Kyodo News Agency as saying that South Korea's minister of culture, sports and tourism, Hwang Hee, said on the 24th that the government has never issued instructions to let athletes not eat ingredients from Fukushima Prefecture.
According to the report, Huang Xi visited the Main Olympic News Center (MPC) in Tokyo's Koto Ward on the same day and made the above answers in response to questions from Kyodo News Agency.
Huang Xi explained that every time they play the Olympic Games, they set up a feeding center. Considering the state of the contestants and the diet that suits their tastes, only the contestants who want to eat can eat box lunches. Mr. Huang said the question about the food center seemed to be misunderstood.
Yonhap News Agency previously quoted Japan's "Yomiuri Shimbun" on the 17th that the Korean Sports Association instructed the South Korean delegation athletes not to eat ingredients produced in Fukushima Prefecture in the Tokyo Olympic Village restaurant on the grounds that there is a risk of contamination with radioactive materials. The report explained that the Korean Sports Association is equivalent to the Korean Olympic Committee.
