Shi Zexing is now a fifth-grade student of Ningbo Haishu Heweisi School, who has a strong interest in traditional culture since childhood, and has won the title of "Scholar of Books" in Haishu District in 2020, representing the school to win good results in recitation, English and other competitions at all levels. He is also an innovative young master who is obsessed with technology, a member of the Municipal Maker Society, and often participates in various scientific and technological activities and scientific experiments.
Shi Zexing has loved small animals since he was a child, and is a "young Fabre" who has many "worm" friends in the eyes of his classmates. In the wilderness, he can distinguish whether it is a cricket or a textile lady according to the sound, open the bricks and put the centipede twenty or thirty centimeters long into the box; he can find a way to attract fireflies with bait, and he can also find a way to catch the white-fronted high-legged spider to cure the cockroach plague in the family; he can also sit for a day to watch the ant lion set a trap to prey on insects... He is also a "little science popularizer" and practices the concept of protecting ecology and loving nature with practical actions.
Shi Zexing and the "worm" together
In 2019, inspired by children's literature writer Zou Dunpi, Shi Zexing germinated the idea of creating a novel about insects. He started with his own insects, incorporated bold imagination and popular science knowledge, and insisted on writing every day after school.
At the end of 2020, Shi Zexing came to Ningbo Publishing House with more than 60,000 words of manuscripts. The famous illustrator Zeng Siqi equipped the manuscript with exquisite illustrations, and Zou Dunpi personally wrote a long preface and commented: "Animal observation writing is better than Fabre, the first trial cry of a talented young writer, taking the reader into the wonderful microscopic world of worms and insects!" ”
Published a new book
In June 2021, "Worms and Worms Dream" was published and listed. Zhang Weiwei, a well-known insect expert, Bao Dongni, a children's literature writer, Jin Ganfang, a special teacher in Zhejiang, and Zhu Zhuoqing, a naturalist, are all recommended for Shi Zexing's new book.

What is valuable is that Shi Zexing has always been a sunshine teenager who is keen on public welfare undertakings and has great love. In 2019, he organized the students to set up a "love public welfare team", collected materials, and made a special trip to Cao County, Shandong Province, to carry out the "Shanhai Plan" activity with Aunt Sha Yuanju, a deputy to the National People's Congress, to pass on yonglu love. After the publication of "Worms and Worms Dream", Shi Zexing donated 1,000 new books to the students of the five schools in Cao County for the first time, saying that in the future, all the manuscript fees of his book would be donated to those who needed help.
Shi Zexing's deeds of being both excellent in character and learning, loving nature and caring about public welfare have been reported by many domestic media. This spring, the "Light of Role Models" column of the National Gold Award children's newspaper "Primary School Student World" sent an interview invitation to Shi Zexing.
