MANN: Premier League clubs are hoping for all matches in this round to be postponed, with five postponements so far

According to the Manchester Evening News, Premier League clubs are pushing for a full postponement of matches to combat the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Manchester Evening News has learned that clubs are fighting to suspend the match before the fa-cup third round, which starts on 7 January. In this case, the Premier League won't resume until the weekend of 15 January, meaning at least three rounds of matches are missing, with many clubs already behind the schedule after multiple postponements.

United have only seven players to play in the game scheduled for Saturday against Brighton. It is alleged that the proportion of players who receive two doses of the vaccine in Manchester United is very low. The Premier League has not released any data on player vaccinations since October announced that 68 per cent of players had been vaccinated. In the same month, Serie A announced that 98 per cent of players and staff had been vaccinated, compared with 94 per cent and 93 per cent in the Bundesliga and La Liga.

Five Premier League games this weekend have been postponed, while Plans for Aston Villa against Burnley, Leeds United against Arsenal, Wolves against Chelsea, Newcastle against Manchester City and Tottenham against Liverpool continue. The Premier League has said it intends to continue hosting what is considered safe and has reintroduced the emergency measures agreement.

If the fixtures are postponed, it will almost certainly spoil the Premier League clubs' rest schedules in January and February. The current Premier League season is set to end on 22 May, while next year's football fixture schedule is already crowded, with the Qatar World Cup starting on 21 November and the final taking place on 18 December, while the Premier League is scheduled to resume on Boxing Day.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank said on Thursday that all Premier League games this weekend should be postponed. Brentford's scheduled match against Southampton on Saturday has been postponed. Frank said: "We think all Premier League games this weekend should be postponed, all the Coronavirus cases of Premier League clubs are spreading, everyone is dealing with it and having problems. Postponing this round of leagues and league cups will give everyone at least a week or four to five days to take care of everything so that everything will be clean and a turnaround can be ushered in. ”
