Lotus plans to raise $500 million and start large-scale production by the end of next year

On August 31 this year, Lotus Technology Co., Ltd. was officially established, the global headquarters settled in Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, and released the product plan for the next five years, to create high-end pure electric intelligent vehicles for the global market, and empower Lotus Group to transform towards electrification and intelligence.

Feng Qingfeng, CEO of Lotus Group, said in an interview a few days ago that the company plans to complete a new round of financing of up to $500 million by March next year. Upon completion of the financing, Lotus will be valued at $5 billion to $6 billion.

According to the plan, Lotus will launch an E-class SUV code-named Type 132 in 2022; an E-class four-door coupe code-named Type 133 in 2023; and a D-class "New Species of Pure Electric Intelligence" code-named Type 134 in 2025, and the above three new models will form lotus group's global pure electric product matrix together with Lotus UK's pure electric supercar Evija and the pure electric trot to be launched in 2026. At present, the Lotus plant has completed construction and is expected to start large-scale production at the end of 2022, which is also fully in line with the pace of product launch.

In addition, Feng Qingfeng also revealed that Lotus will conduct an IPO in the United States or Hong Kong as soon as 2023.
