Because "the country cannot be without a monarch for a day", the officials of the Ming Dynasty embraced Zhu Qizhen's younger brother Zhu Jianshen as emperor, that is, the Ming Dynasty Emperor. The emperor has changed, the prince will naturally change, the original prince Zhu Jianshen not only lost his position as the prince, but also most likely never to see his father again, the young Zhu Mishen fell into a deep fear.
At that time, Zhu Jianshen did not have a father around him, nor could he see his mother, as for those ministers who were worried about the world's major events day and night, naturally they would not pay too much attention to the fear and uneasiness and wandering of a small child, fortunately, there was another person around him who accompanied him through those uneasy years, this person's name was Wan Zhen'er, who was his nanny.
Wan Zhen'er was 17 years older than Zhu Jianshen, and when she was nineteen years old, she had already begun to accompany the two-year-old Zhu Jianshen, if the two were still inseparable at first, then by the time Zhu Jianshen was abandoned as the crown prince, it could already be regarded as a mutual affection, and in those difficult years, the two of them gradually developed deep feelings, and Zhu Jianshen had a deep attachment to Wan Zhen'er.

In the eighth year of Tianshun (1464), the 18-year-old Zhu Jianshen succeeded to the throne as emperor, and the first thing he did was to make Wan Zhen'er empress, and after being strongly opposed by his birth mother and his courtiers, he only made him an imperial concubine, but Wan Zhen'er also had a very strong influence because of the emperor's favor. Wan Zhen'er gave birth to a son two years later for the 20-year-old Zhu Jianshen, but died a year later, after which Wan Zhen'er did not give birth to a son, but killed the son born to her concubine.
So much so that Zhu Jianshen thought that he only had one son who had died prematurely, and in the eleventh year of Chenghua (1745), Zhu Jianshen looked at the white hair in the mirror and sighed that he was old, but he still had no son. At this time, the eunuch Zhang Min beside him suddenly knelt down: "Your Majesty, your son is already 6 years old", it turned out that a palace girl named Ji Shi had already given birth to a son for him.
It was only because he was afraid of being poisoned by Wan Zhen'er that he only dared to raise him quietly, and did not dare to speak out, Zhu Jianshen was overjoyed when he heard the news, he immediately went to see this son, and named him Zhu Youfan, made him the crown prince and gave him the best education. Shortly thereafter, Ji Shi and Zhang Min and others suddenly fell ill and died, but Zhu Youfan, under the instruction of the empress dowager, did not eat what Wan Zhen'er had sent, and was able to grow up safely, and in 1487 ascended the throne as emperor as Emperor Xiaozong of Ming.
