Suddenly, a black bear ran out and tried to climb up the hall along the railing, and the concubines beside the emperor fled in fright.
Only Feng Jieyu stepped forward, stopped the black bear head-on, fought with the black bear, and waited until the guards, breeders and others arrived, and everyone rushed up with seven hands and eight feet before putting the black bear back into the circle.
"People are frightened, why did they become bears before?"
Afterwards, Emperor Yuan of Han asked Feng Jieyu: It is reasonable to say that people are afraid of bears, but why do you have the courage to block black bears?
"The beast of prey stops with man, and the concubine fears the bear until the royal seat, so she deserves it."
Feng Jieyu replied: The beast will stop when it encounters a person, and the concubine is afraid that the black bear will climb on the throne and hurt His Majesty, so she uses her body to block it.
Emperor Yuan of Han was amazed, and thereafter he paid great respect to Feng Jieyu, which made Fu Zhaoyi and other concubines feel very ashamed.
The following year, Feng Jieyu was promoted to Zhaoyi, and her son Liu Xing was made the Prince of Xindu.
Emperor Yuan of Han died and Emperor Cheng of Han ascended the throne.
Feng Zhaoyi changed her name to "Empress Xindu", and the mother and son lived in the Chuyuan Palace.
During the Reign of Emperor Heping of Hancheng (28 BC – 25 BC), Feng Zhaoyi followed his son Liu Xing to fengguo to take the domain, and after the feudal state moved to Zhongshan, Liu Xing became the monarch of zhongshan, known as Zhongshan Filial Piety, and Feng Yuan changed her name to Empress Zhongshan.

Shang Shuji accused Zhang You of leaving without permission, and Zhang You, fearing his guilt, framed Empress Feng of Zhongshan for cursing the emperor and empress dowager.
At that time, the empress dowager was Fu Zhaoyi at that time, and she had long been dissatisfied with Empress Feng, and the "matter of blocking the bear" had always been grumpy, and when the opportunity came, Empress Fu immediately sent Yushi Dingxuan to Zhongshan to handle the case.
Ding Xuan arrested all the officials of the Zhongshan State and more than a hundred members of the Feng family, and detained them in Luoyang, Wei County, Julu and other places, and interrogated them for "tens of days" without any results.
Empress Fu was very dissatisfied, so she ordered Shi Li and others to re-interrogate her, and tortured them to force dozens of deaths.
When Shi Li and others interrogated Empress Feng, Empress Feng never admitted that there was nothing wrong with her, and Shi Li stimulated Empress Feng and said, "I think how heroic the empress dowager was when she stood up to block the bear, why don't you have the courage to confess your sins now?" ”
The implication is that it will be done sooner.
