The Post: New York City's 9-goal striker in seven games has drawn West Ham's attention, and Guardiola has praised him for landing in Europe

According to the Daily Mail, West Ham is interested in bringing in New York City striker Valentine Castellanos.

New York City, a sister club for Manchester City and part of the City Football Group, scored in the Major League Cup final in New York City's win over Portland Timber last weekend, boosting his goal count in all competitions this season to 23.

Castellanos has been particularly strong in recent weeks, scoring in the team's last four games during the regular season. The striker then scored in three Major League Cup play-offs, meaning he has scored nine goals in his last seven games.

The 23-year-old Castellanos, whose excellent performances have also won the admiration of Manchester City manager Guardiola, who previously said: "I think his next step will be in Europe. ”

'From what I've seen, and the information that the scouting department gave me when talking to me, I think he's a quality player ready to take the next step and we're going to see where his next step is.'

Castellanos is worth around £15m and it is understood because Besiktas has previously offered the player but was rejected and now West Ham is also watching him closely.

This summer, a number of Championship teams have asked New York City about the possibility of a transfer to Castellanos, but the player's value has risen with the performance, even attracting the attention of teams from Spain.
