Hubei Province's extensive, representative and participatory skill competition, the "Hubei Craftsman Cup" skill competition, ushered in a competition to fill the gap in the industry. On December 12, the Hubei Provincial Integrated Circuit Development and Application Vocational Skills Competition was held in the Chip Experiment Center of Hubei University of Technology.
The competition is sponsored by Hubei Vocational Skills Appraisal and Guidance Center, Hubei Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Society, organized by Hubei University of Technology, co-organized by Wuhan Lingye Technology Co., Ltd., Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University of Technology, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), Hubei Jiangcheng Laboratory, Hubei Jiutongfang Microelectronics Co., Ltd. and Hangzhou Langxun Technology Co., Ltd. as supporting units, with a total of supporting units from South Central University for Nationalities, Hubei University, Wuhan Textile University, Wuhan Vocational and Technical College, Wuhan Software Engineering Vocational College, More than 150 people attended 13 colleges and universities, including Changjiang Vocational College, Hubei Engineering Vocational College, Edong Technician College, and Xiantao Vocational College.

"The Hubei Provincial Integrated Circuit Development and Application Vocational Skills Competition is an important event held in the special context of strengthening vocational skills education and training in China, and is a practical measure to deeply implement the spirit of the important instructions for the work of vocational skills talents, implement the newly deliberated and adopted "14th Five-Year Plan" vocational skills training plan, and the "Notice of the General Office of the Provincial People's Government on Printing and Distributing the Implementation Plan for Vocational Skills Improvement Actions in Hubei Province (2019-2021)", which will realize the spirit of Hubei Province's "science and technology strong province" The strategy provides high-quality and innovative talent support.
Professor Lei Jinming of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, as the chief judge of the competition jury, announced the competition arrangement and judging procedure at the opening ceremony and made a speech, and also invited Zhao Yuqiang, the representative of the contestants, and Li Jin, the representative of the judges, to make an oath speech.
Professor Wang Defa further emphasized in his speech that Hubei University of Technology is one of the first three universities in Hubei Province to open a modern industrial college, of which the Chip Industry College is the first batch of modern industrial colleges approved by the Ministry of Education in 2021. The School of Chip Industry has a master's program in electronic science and technology, a professional master's program in the direction of electronic information "integrated circuit engineering", a one-time investment of more than 30 million yuan to build a chip design and process experiment center, and launched a 70 million yuan chip testing and research center planning. At the same time, the college provides good conditions for the cultivation of chip industry talents through the introduction of high-level talents and corporate mentors.
Lu Hui, deputy director of the organizing committee of the competition and dean of the Chip Industry College of Hubei University of Technology, said bluntly in an interview that the integrated circuit industry, as the foundation of the global information industry, has gradually become an important symbol of measuring the comprehensive competitiveness of a country or region and a barometer of the regional economy. However, talent is the main bottleneck restricting the development of China's integrated circuit industry. In the cultivation of integrated circuit talents, the current key and difficult issues are concentrated in the construction of teachers and practical training bases. The School of Chip Industry of Hubei University of Technology will participate in this competition to realize the cooperation of all parties in the society in education, talents, scientific research and other directions, and promote the organic integration of integrated circuit talent training in theoretical teaching, design innovation and engineering practice.
Wang Jian, general manager of Wuhan Lingye Technology Co., Ltd., the co-organizer of the competition, said in an interview: The data shows that the Future China's integrated circuit market will show a good trend of rapid development. It is initially estimated that by 2026, the market size of China's integrated circuit industry is expected to reach about 2 trillion yuan. This competition closely follows the latest development in the field of integrated circuit technology and the talent demand of the integrated circuit design and manufacturing industry, focusing on the assessment of microelectronics technology, applied electronic technology, electronic information engineering technology and other fields in the fields of integrated circuit design, integrated circuit manufacturing process, integrated circuit testing, integrated circuit sorting, integrated circuit application (including electronic circuit design, programming and circuit assembly, etc.) and other comprehensive skills, each track competition time in 2-3 hours. The content of each track competition can basically meet the needs of different links of the chip industry chain and different majors focusing on competition, and has a strong practicality.
