Surrounded by mountains on three sides, Wutong'an Village is a village that grows up in the embrace of the Kuncheng Mountains. With the construction of the Kunming Mountain Cherry Festival brand, Wutong'an Village hitched a ride on the "hitchhiker", cultivated a characteristic tourism industry, every household planted cherries, some also opened homestays and farmhouses, "beautiful, ecological, livable" village label is getting stronger and stronger, in 2017, the village was rated as "National Beautiful Countryside Demonstration Village".
With the arrival of tourists, fire prevention is particularly important, and as villagers who have lived here for generations, they remember the importance of fire prevention. But even if the prevention and control is strict, there are also a hundred dense times, a few years ago, one night, Yu Zhenguo found that there was a little smoke in the next village, he immediately realized that it may be a fire in the next village, so he immediately called the volunteer firefighters.
This matter took root in Zhenguo's heart, the passion of this veteran was ignited, and from 2017, with the support and guidance of the local fire department, he began to prepare for the construction of the Wutong'an Volunteer Fire Brigade. Subsequently, 7 team members, including Yu Tao, took the initiative to sign up, and this volunteer fire brigade with an average age of 55 years old and 75% of the members was officially established.
"Firefighting must be a professional thing!" The more the days passed, the more Yu Zhenguo and the team members felt the importance of professionalism. The Gejia Fire Rescue Station nearest to Wutong'an Village is about 10 kilometers, and due to the terrain, it takes about 10 minutes to get to the scene at the earliest, because this rescue time is very valuable before the professional firefighters arrive. "Their disposal of the fire scene may avoid a wildfire and protect the lives and property of the villagers." Not only that, in order to ensure the fire safety of these villages, the newly built miniature fire station in Wutong'an Village was also opened on the same day. In the miniature fire station, there are both simple clothing and other necessary equipment, as well as professional equipment for fire rescue. Learning how to use fire water to grab and how to fetch water nearby are the contents that villagers should learn.
At the training drill site, Li Jupeng, the captain of the Guangzhou Road Fire Rescue Station of the Wendeng District Fire Rescue Brigade, showed the functions and use of fire extinguishers, suction pumps and fire trucks. During the practical training, the villagers boarded the fire truck with the firefighters, observed the practical skills of the firefighters, and conducted fire fighting and rescue drills.

Today, during the winter fire season, volunteer firefighters in Wutong'an Village are not allowed to leave the village in principle during this period, according to the work regulations. In the village, they patrol the mountains every day, drag the net to check fire hazards, enter households to popularize fire safety knowledge, etc., and truly perform the duties of the fire fighting and rescue combat team, the fire knowledge publicity team, and the fire safety inspection team.
