On August 7, the Liaocheng Intermediate People's Court in Shandong Province held a public trial through a remote video system to hear the case of Xu Yuheng, former director of the Liaocheng Land and Resources Bureau and secretary of the party leading group, for accepting bribes and abusing his power. The Liaocheng City People's Procuratorate sent personnel to appear in court to support the public prosecution, and defendant Xu Yuheng and his defender attended the court to participate in the proceedings.

The Liaocheng City People's Procuratorate indicted that between 2009 and 2014, defendant Xu Yuheng took advantage of his position as director of the Liaocheng Land and Resources Bureau and secretary of the party leading group to provide assistance to a number of companies in handling land formalities, and accepted a total of 2.6 million yuan in cash from the actual controllers of the above-mentioned companies. Defendant Xu Yuheng abused his power by engaging in favoritism and abuse of power, causing losses of more than 24.07 million yuan to public property, and the circumstances were particularly serious.

During the trial, the public prosecution presented relevant evidence, the defendant Xu Yuheng and his defender conducted cross-examination, the prosecution and defense fully expressed their opinions under the auspices of the court, and Xu Yuheng made a final statement and admitted guilt and accepted punishment in court. At the end of the trial, the court adjourned the case and the verdict will be decided at a later date.
