On December 11, the award ceremony of the 3rd Golden Key Picture Book Creation Competition was held in Beijing. A total of 304 entries from many Chinese people at home and abroad were collected, and a total of 6 works were selected after three rounds of review and discussion by a professional judging team composed of 7 Chinese and foreign experts.
Mr. Zhang Mingzhou, President of the International Children's Book Federation (IBBY) and one of the judges of the competition, sent his blessings to the competition through video. He said that the Golden Key Picture Book Creation Competition originated in Europe and developed in China, which is of great significance for discovering high-quality local original picture books.
Teacher A Jia, the anchor of the Himalaya "A Jia Storytelling", also shared his feelings about the Golden Key Picture Book Creation Competition on the spot. He mentioned that among the many original picture book awards in China, the special feature of "Golden Key" is its international nature - the winning works were published in China and Belgium at the same time, setting the tone for the competition to face the world. "Golden Key" not only has professional awarding experience, but also has an open and inclusive attitude, accepting good content and good works.
A total of 5 works in this competition won the silver medal, namely "Green Mao Wusu" (author Duan Xuefei), "Grandpa Pig's Apple Tree" (author Jin Xiaoyu and Xu Yang), "Codebreaker Charlotte" (author Wang Zihuan), "Paper Boat" (author Wen Ermin); "What to eat tonight?". (Author Zhou Chen).
The work that won the gold medal this year is author Liu Hao's "Prairie Beater". This is a work with distinctive local characteristics and unique painting style, telling the growth process of a Mongolian little beater. The brave unity conveyed by the story and the beautiful character of facing adversity deeply touched the organizing committee. Gold medalist Liu Hao was also awarded a certificate and a cash prize of 7,500 euros. This work will soon be published simultaneously at home and abroad, and the author himself will be invited to join the jury of the next Golden Key Picture Book Creation Competition to witness the birth of more excellent works.
Liu Hao said at the scene that creation is lonely, but the persistence of creation can eventually dissolve loneliness and make the work burst out of brilliant colors.
After the award ceremony, the host announced that the third Golden Key Picture Book Creation Contest Exhibition was held in Beijing. ZSPACE is officially opened with ease. During the 37-day exhibition, the audience can see the paintings selected by the organizing committee from the entries of this competition, and enjoy the joy and inspiration brought by these stories that jump on the paper.
