The special weight loss products sold on WeChat and e-commerce platforms are actually "new drugs", containing many types of state-controlled psychotropic substances. Recently, after more than 5 months of meticulous investigation, the cixi police in Zhejiang Province successfully cracked the first case of "diet pills" containing controlled drugs in Ningbo, arrested 42 suspects involved in the case, seized more than 100,000 packages and more than 300 kilograms of slimming pills involved in the case, seized more than 40 mobile phones, and closed one of the e-commerce platforms involved in the case.

At the beginning of April this year, the Cixi Municipal Public Security Bureau found a woman surnamed Zhang who tested positive for urine during the daily investigation of drug-related personnel, but Zhang insisted that she had not taken drugs recently, but had only eaten a foreign brand of weight loss products. After third-party identification, the weight loss product is under the guise of foreign imported prescription drugs, and the actual addition of phentermine, caffeine and other controlled psychotropic drugs can cause people to reduce appetite, lose weight and have symptoms such as dizziness, tinnitus, and rapid heartbeat to varying degrees, and some personnel will even have adverse reactions such as anxiety, depression, mania and irritability, which will seriously damage physical health and lay major hidden dangers for social safety.

Cixi police first-time case filing and investigation, starting from the micro-businessmen who sold products to Zhang, successfully arrested niu Mou, a domestic first-class agent of the weight loss product, in Anyang City, Henan Province, sealed its domestic warehouse, and seized more than 300 kilograms of weight loss products involved in the case on the spot.

According to the confession of the criminal suspect Niu Mou, he first learned that the "diet pill" had a good effect through a friend studying abroad, so he took the "diet pill" with the mentality of trying it out, and after finding that it did have an effect, he planned to do the "diet pill" agent. Through the in-depth analysis of Niu's sales network, a criminal gang of toxic slimming products involving nearly 40 sales personnel in 13 provinces and cities across the country gradually appeared in front of investigators. The criminal gang used social apps and an e-commerce platform to sell the slimming products illegally for profit.

At the end of July, the Cixi police dispatched more than 100 elite police forces to the provinces to carry out arrests, which lasted for nearly two months, and by mid-September, all the members involved in the case were arrested and arrested, and the case was successfully solved. At present, the case has been transferred to the procuratorate for review and prosecution.

The police found that in the past six months, there were 5,000 or 6,000 diet pills sold from the hands of the criminal suspect Niu Mou, and the number of people who bought them exceeded 4,000. "This diet pill is purchased on a monthly basis, 30 packs a month, according to the level of agent, priced from 220 yuan to 1680 yuan, the profit is very considerable." For more than half a year, Niu mou illegally profited from the purchase of a Mercedes-Benz car, and another suspect had purchased a suite in Henan.

The police remind that some micro-merchants do not know what the ingredients of the product are, and they see that they make good money and sell them, which is easy to be suspected of the crime of drug trafficking. Everyone has a heart for beauty, but blindly eating drugs and using toxic weight loss products of unknown origin in order to pursue the so-called "thinness" will not only cause irreversible harm to physical health, but also be easily branded with a history of drug abuse, which will have a major impact on future life, work, travel, etc.
