The film participating in the Long Film Festival | "The Light Whisperer" China's first Arctic scientific research film

The 16th China Changchun Film Festival will be held in Changchun, Jilin Province from December 21 to 25, 2021. This year's film festival takes "new era, new cradle and new power" as the normal theme, and sets three keywords of "centennial, cradle, ice and snow" as the characteristic theme of this year. On November 12, the film collection channel on the official website of the Film Festival Organizing Committee was officially opened, and as of December 1, a total of 133 films were collected.

Among the participating films, "The Whisperer of Light", as China's first Arctic scientific expedition film, depicts the work and life of Chinese Arctic expedition team members in the ice and snow world. The contributions made by the scientific expedition team members to China's scientific exploration and the hardships involved deserve attention.

The Arctic Circle, New Olsson, is a 120-day polar night. In order to monitor the aurora, Liu Yang, a member of the scientific expedition team, will be stationed alone at the Yellow River Station of the Chinese Arctic Scientific Expedition. What was it like to spend more than 2,800 hours of pure black nightlife? And what kind of people live in this town that can be walked in 15 minutes? Co-directed by Sun Hui, Feng Feng, Yang Ziyun and Zhou Quan, and filmed by Li Xiaowen, Liu Song, Sun Hui, Wang Kainan and Liu Yang, members of the Chinese Arctic Expedition Team, "The Whisperer of Light" truly shows the life of the "blue tones" of the Arctic expedition team members stationed in the polar night.

"The Whisperer" is a masterpiece of both scientific and humanistic care. In the film, Liu Yang, a member of the expedition team, calls the Arctic "lonely, but the closest place to science and nature". The inhabitants of the Arctic town have their own philosophy of life and life, and the film shows the philosophy of life of the Arctic residents in the form of humanistic interviews.

The film uses simple shots and scripts to truly narrate the daily life of the Arctic town for the audience from the perspective of the scientific expedition team. The polar scenery interspersed among them was lamented by netizens that "every frame is wallpaper".

During the Spring Festival, liu yang was the only one Chinese in the arctic town, and he warmed the arctic town with Chinese red. He distributed Chinese knots and red envelopes to his friends, telling them that red was the lucky color. He also taught the canteen chef to make dumplings, but there were not too many vegetables available, and potatoes were added to the vegetarian dumplings. Looking at the surprised expressions of his friends, his heart may have some thoughts of his hometown.

At the end of the film, the polar night ends, the sun rises, Liu Yang's garrison mission ends, and the atmosphere of the film turns warm. In the record of Liu Yang's conversation back home, there is only his dream and his love for life. Thanks to the silent dedication of the expedition team members, and also to the makers of this film. If it weren't for this film, we might not have had the chance to get to know the town closest to the Arctic and the people in it.
