On December 8-9, the large-scale contemporary dance drama "Dragon Boat", produced by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee, the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Tourism, and the Propaganda Department of the Shunde District Committee of foshan City (District Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Television Tourism and Sports), and created and performed by the Guangzhou Song and Dance Theatre, was performed at the Guangzhou Grand Theatre.
The dance drama "Dragon Boat" is jointly produced by Foshan, Guangzhou, combining the advantages of the two places, and is committed to jointly creating a representative high-quality drama in the Greater Bay Area. Jointly building the humanistic bay area, shaping the humanistic spirit of the bay area, jointly promoting the inheritance and development of China's excellent traditional culture, and giving full play to the advantages of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao's geographical proximity and cultural affinity are the creative intentions of the dance drama "Dragon Boat".

The play premiered in Shunde in August this year, and after the premiere, the main creative team held several creative meetings to fully listen to the opinions of leaders and experts from all sides and formulate detailed revision plans and plans. Artistic director Shi Jinjin said that this global performance version has been refined and improved in terms of plot, music, choreography, lighting, dance passages, etc., making the plot more compact, the character image more full, the drama more intense, and the sense of dance layering more prominent. Although the time to modify the composition is very urgent, the creators and actors grit their teeth, work overtime to trim and optimize every small detail, just to present the best stage effect to the audience.
Chief choreographers Qian Xin and Wang Sisi introduced that according to the revision plan, the performance version was redesigned and the dance section was rearranged, making the overall repertoire more coherent. Dramatically, the inner portrayal and emotional expression of the characters are added, and how contemporary young people wake up and break through the cocoon into butterflies when they face difficulties and experience choices, rekindling hope and blood. What this play hopes to present to the audience is a very real and resonant scene depiction of contemporary society.
According to reports, the lead actors Zhou Xinyu, Yi Lifan, Li Ao, Pang Guanyu, Lu Yujing, Li Qiwei and the dancers were stuck in the rehearsal hall day and night, although they were plagued by injuries and illnesses, they were still full of enthusiasm, which is the spiritual connotation of "working together in the same boat, chopping waves, and forging ahead".
Lu Yujing, the leader of the dance team, said that due to the recent overtime rehearsal, in order to alleviate the injury and fatigue of the actors, the troupe specially arranged Traditional Chinese medicine for their treatment, especially during the synthesis of the repertoire, this side has just finished treatment, and the other side will be on the field. Although the actors all carried large and small injuries on their bodies, none of them took leave and did not delay any rehearsals.
It is reported that the dance drama "Dragon Boat" will start a tour in Guangdong Province in Shunde in 2022, and then carry out a national tour.
