The change that Zhou Lianmei felt was due to the work of the Midong District Garden Administration in Dazhuangzi Village and the "I do practical things for the masses" practical activity jointly carried out by the two village committees - the work of maintaining the official website of the tap water supply, so that 22 villagers, including Zhou Lianmei, could eat the tap water of the waterworks.
Zhou Lianmei lives in one of the farthest residential areas in the village, and the water pipes in her home have not been connected to the main water pipe. Previously, residents here relied on a well drilled in the 1950s, but in recent years, as the well has fallen into disrepair, especially since this year, the amount of water has become smaller and the water is often turbid.
After investigation, the task force and the village "two committees" put the 22 villagers' solution to the tap water problem as the number one people's livelihood affair on the list of people's livelihood. Xie Yijun, the leader of the task force, said that although there are only 22 households and more than 50 villagers here, they still need to ensure that every villager has access to normal and assured tap water.
"With the support of the 'two committees' of Sandaoba Town and Village, we and the Midong District Water Bureau quickly determined a solution to extend the water main pipe to the residential area of the test site." Xie Yijun said.
After more than three months of on-site investigation, application for funds, and pipeline design and construction, the water supply network passed through Zhou Lianmei's settlement in early September, and everyone used the tap water from the waterworks. At the same time as the main water network was repaired to the village, there was also a natural gas pipeline network.
Panning rice, washing vegetables, Zhou Lianmei turned on the natural gas to make breakfast. She said that with the use of clear and bright tap water, but also with natural gas for heating and cooking, everyone said that the party and the government are doing good things for everyone.
