Dalot praised Fred for staying "sober" in all his criticisms.

Diogo Dalot praised Manchester United team-mate Fred for staying "sober" in all criticisms after scoring the winning goal against Crystal Palace.

On Sunday, the Red Devils beat Patrick Vieira's side 1-0 to give Ralf Rangnick a perfect start to his reign, finishing seventh in the Premier League table.

Fred was heavily criticised by fans, experts and former players during his time at Old Trafford, and United failed to reach the pinnacle of the Sir Alex Ferguson era.

But in Lonnick's system, the Brazilian thrived in the match against Palace, with Manchester United right-back Dalot praising him as a "loser" who always "gave everything for the cause".

Dalot told the club's official website: "He's a loser. Everyone can criticize him, but he keeps his head up and keeps going on the pitch, he gives everything he has in every game, and that's what this club is all about.

"Even if you concede a goal or miss a shot, you always try the next time, you always fight for the team and that's what we want. That's what we want. ”

Dalot has struggled to get into Manchester United this season, but in the starting line-up against Arsenal and Crystal Palace, he is now a back-to-back Premier League starter.

The Portugal international added: "It's not easy when you're outside [starting XI] and don't have that many games, but our job is to be ready and I think I'm prepared off the pitch. ”

Bruno Fernandes also responded to Dalot's comments about Fred, the Portuguese midfielder who insisted his team-mate "deserves all the accolades he gets".

"Overall, everyone is doing well," Fernandez admitted to Premier League productions.

"We created a lot of chances and the result could be a little bit better for us, but we're happy because we got three points.

Fred would have a shot like this once a year. Everyone is happy for him because he's a nice guy and he works a lot and most people don't talk about him. He deserves all the honors he has now received. ”
