At about 10:00 a.m. on December 6, a P-8A anti-submarine patrol aircraft (AE6857) of the US Navy took off from the Misawa base in Japan, entered the Yellow Sea for reconnaissance at about 13:00, and then turned into the East China Sea at 14:30 to continue reconnaissance.
