Ten years after the death of Brazilian legend Socrates, Nike and The Brazilian Corinthians commemorate the great player in the club's No. 8 shirt by launching the "Doutor Sócrates" series. As an exclusive collection that represents the history of the club, its most eye-catching piece is this special edition jersey.

Socrates was an icon in the history of Corinthians and Brazilian football, and his doctorate in medicine and political philosophy, combined with his superb skills, earned him the nickname "Doutor Sócrates". On the tenth anniversary of his death, Nike and Corinthians launched a special collection named after the nickname.
The collection has a minimalist look and special details that run through the theme, such as the emblem that combines the club badge with the image of the player with the clenched fist, and the style of the jersey number in the 1980s when Socrates was at its peak. The upper part of the back is printed with the words "Doutor Sócrates", a faithful and completely new interpretation of the democratic logo used by Corinthians at that time.
Corinthians president Dulio Monteiro Alves said: "Corinthians cannot understand the greatness of corinthine without recognising the importance of what Socrates has done to the team on and off the field. In addition to being one of the biggest players in the club's history, he was a leader and competent citizen who, along with other players and my father, Adilson Montero Alves (then the club's director of football), threw himself into Corinthian's cause of democracy. The collection is a memory of Socrates and I'm sure fans will be proud and excited when they put on this shirt. ”
