Now more and more friends like outdoor sports, especially outdoor hiking. I'm not a professional backpacker and I don't have experience with heavy-duty trekking, and I'm talking about how to plan backpack items on a general trip or a short trip. For more professional reloaded long-distance trekking how to prepare materials and equipment is not within the scope of this article, if there is an omission or inappropriate, you can add and improve, thank you!
I don't know if everyone has the same feeling as me, that is, when a person or a partner travels outdoors, I always want to pack my back full, especially if I want to camp outside, I want to bring everything I can bring, for fear of forgetting something, and when I use it, I will catch blind!
If you've ever felt this way, congratulations on being like me, we're all "rookies" in backpackers!
After several years of outdoor travel and participation in many outdoor hikes of different degrees, my current feeling is that being able to travel light is the true meaning of outdoor sports, and it is also an important skill, which needs to be understood and improved through a lot of time and experience.
It was through years of practice and consulting with experienced backpackers that I learned how to prepare the items needed for outdoor hiking and how to get rid of unnecessary weights. Break the demon of "wanting to bring everything", haha!
I hope sharing the following experiences is of great help to everyone!
If we want to go light, we need to know how much of the items we carry are. What equipment do you need to choose depending on your trek? How to lose weight safely and reasonably?
Method 1: Statistically measure the weight of all outdoor products you have and purchase, so that you know it. (I use the stupid method of putting a weight tag.) )
Method 2: Ask yourself a few more questions.
A. "Why do I have to bring this item?" ”
B. "Can this item still lose weight?" ”
C. "Is there a lighter item that can be replaced?" ”
D. "Is it possible to make the items both useful and weight-reducing by doing it yourself?" ”
Method 3: Prepare supplies according to different outdoor activities.
First of all, we must make it clear that there is no fixed set of packs that can be wrapped around the world.
Reasonable selection of required equipment is an optimization plan made according to the needs of outdoor activities, with reference to environmental factors and emergency needs.
Method 4: Keep the most core of each outdoor trip as light as possible.
For example: tents, sleeping bags, backpacks. (The lighter the weight, the higher the price)
Tent: Choose a single ultra-light tent, which can be waterproof.
Sleeping bag: Choose a down one.
Backpack: Do not choose too large, except for reloaded hikes. (Usually about 50 liters is enough!) )
Method 5: If it is a short day of outdoor activities, bring only the necessary equipment and materials.
For example: drinking water, high-energy food, hats, sunglasses, simple medicines and Band-Aids, lifeboys, hiking poles, a folding knife, a small flashlight, a small mirror, a lighter, 75% alcohol tissues.
Method 6: If you are traveling in a group, you can carry different equipment and materials separately, which can balance and reduce the carrying weight of each person, and at the same time, you can not miss the various materials needed.
Finally, it should be emphasized that the weight of outdoor sports does not only come from the equipment and supplies in our backpacks.
The outdoor clothing and shoes we wear also consume our physical strength, and their weight should not be underestimated.
Clothes that choose the texture of chemical fiber material weigh less than clothes with a cotton or denim texture, especially after being wet by rain.
Lightweight boots are also important, as they protect your ankles and even your knees while allowing you to travel farther and see farther away.
The sharing of the above content hopes to be helpful to friends who are interested in outdoor hiking. If there is any omission, please add and correct it, thank you!
