On December 1, U.S. Secretary of the Army Wormes said that if war breaks out in the Indo-Pacific region, the U.S. Army will play a "key service" role in the joint forces and will perform at least five core tasks: (1) build and defend bases in the Pacific, perform integrated air defense and anti-missile missions, and deploy security and rapid response forces to areas where they are needed; (2) support long-range logistics supply lines, provide most of the security communication network, and maintain ammunition reserves, forward armaments, and refueling points ;(3) Provide multi-level command and control capabilities to ensure coordination and synchronization between joint forces; (4) provide strong combat capabilities for joint forces, using long-range hypersonic weapons, medium-range capabilities and precision strike missiles to enhance the strike capabilities of joint forces; (5) provide counterattack capabilities through mobile units such as infantry "Shrek" brigades and combat aviation brigades.
