Built in 1978, Building 114 of Jinsong District 1 was an experimental building at that time, and the external wall panels of less than 20 centimeters thick not only made the house cold in winter and hot in summer, but also had major safety hazards. Chen Xueping, who lives in the third unit, said,

Chen Xueping is the first batch of residents of this building, and has lived in the building for more than 40 years, and the leaking water of the house and the peeling off of the wall skin are all problems that plague life. Chen Xueping said that most of the people in this building are elderly, and everyone is very supportive when they hear that elevators can be installed this time.
Chen Xueping: Some old people live on the fifth and sixth floors of the upper floor, and if their health is slightly worse, they can't get down, and they have to stay in the house. Older, it is much more convenient to go up and down the stairs with an elevator.
Because of the special building structure, Building 114 has become the only old building in Jinsong District that has not been renovated. Demolition and reconstruction can be carried out according to the relevant opinions. Meng Fanjun, project manager of Beijing Construction Engineering Group and this project, said that after the reconstruction is completed, in addition to installing elevators, the average building area per household can increase by 6 square meters, the kitchen and bathroom can be expanded a little, and the apartment type of the house is more suitable for the needs of modern life.
Meng Fanjun: In the past, the entrance door of the old house was a corridor, and then divided into several doors, and the bedroom was relatively large. Now we are reducing the bedroom accordingly, pulling the whole hall apart, and completely separating life and residence.
The funds required for the renovation adopt the new funding principle of "quadripartite sharing". The government subsidizes about half. He Haijun, director of the Urban Management Office of Jinsong Street in Chaoyang District, said that through the introduction of social capital, the capital contribution of each household was reduced to 60,000 or 70,000 yuan, and social capital could use the new basement space of this building free of charge within 20 years to make up for the shortcomings of living facilities in Jinsong District.
He Haijun: According to the principle of sustainable profits, 20 years can recover costs. However, its format should be decided by the residents, and now the preliminary decision is to have a supermarket, an elderly canteen, a haircut, and a library as a public service support for residents.
According to the plan, Building 114 in Jinsong District 1 will be demolished by the end of the year and rebuilt in 2023.
