Mr. Yang Gongji

Yang Gongji (1921-1989), formerly known as Gongji and Zheng noon, later changed his name to Zhenhua, a native of Zhengding County. In 1937, he entered Wuchang Zhonghua University. In 1938, he went to Yan'an to participate in the revolution. In the same year, he joined the Communist Party of China. He studied at Shaanxi North Public School and Lu Xun Art College, and served as a cultural teacher. After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in 1945, he went to Zhangjiakou Xuanhua Xinhua Steel Mill To work in the trade union. In the autumn of 1946, he was transferred to the Northeast Liberated Area and served as a professor at Jiamusi University, and at the same time served as the director of the teaching and research departments of the Chinese and history departments. In the autumn of 1948, he presided over the excavation of the Neolithic ruins of Xituanshan in Jilin City, and published the "Report", in addition to announcing the "skull indication" of the Xituanshan people and the genus of the excavated objects, he also published the pottery ding and pottery mane excavated in Xituanshan that were similar to the ancient Yellow River Basin type. Guo Moruo praised after reading it, "This is a very valuable academic text ... In the old days, people used to regard Guanwai as an outsider, and the Japanese Kou were more deliberately special, hiding and distorting all kinds of excavated antiquities, and we should now try our best to break these views based on the facts underground, and we should emphasize that Guannei Guanwai was a family in prehistory." Later, according to the characteristics of the excavations of Xituanshan, the Chinese archaeological community regarded it as a representative culture like the Yangshao culture or the Longshan culture, so it was named "Xituanshan culture". The "Report" was translated and introduced by the Soviet Union and Japan. In 1949, Northeastern University moved to Changchun and was renamed Northeast Normal University. He has successively served as a professor, the director of the Literature Teaching and Research Department and the Classical Literature Teaching and Research Department, the librarian, and the director of the Institute of Classical Chinese Literature. In 1953, he was appointed as a master tutor. In 1954, he joined the Chinese Writers Association. He has successively served as a director of the Shenyang Branch of the China Writers Association, the vice chairman of the Jilin Branch of the Writers Association, the deputy director of the Institute of Literature of the Jilin Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the deputy director of the Jilin Institute of Philosophy and Social Sciences. After 1977, he served as vice president of Jilin Academy of Social Sciences, vice chairman of the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, vice chairman of the Federation of Philosophical and Social Science Societies of Jilin Province, member of the editorial board of "Social Science Front", and a member of the first disciplinary review group of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council. In 1981, he was appointed as the first batch of doctoral supervisors in liberal arts.

After 1943, he was wronged, in adversity for a long time, through ups and downs, but his revolutionary ambition never weakened, and he enthusiastically and persistently engaged in education for more than 40 years. After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the "problem" was clarified, and the organizational decision was made to restore his party membership, counting from 1938.

He devoted his life to the teaching and research of classical Chinese literature, alongside archaeology, exegesis, history, philosophy, philosophy of language, literature and art, folklore and other aspects, rigorous in his studies, paying attention to the examination of materials, and good at proposing his own new arguments and annotations. In 1948, he began to write lecture notes on the History of Chinese Literature, which was the earliest work to systematically study the history of Chinese literature with Marxist ideological methods, and wrote the third draft in 1951, which was introduced and promoted to various colleges and universities by the Central Ministry of Education. In addition, he is the author of "Chinese Primitive Literature", "Zhou Dynasty Poetry", "History of Chinese Novels" and other works.

He died in 1989 at the age of 68.
