Cai Zhijian, a native of Jilin City, Jilin Province, is in his early 50s and originally worked in a steel factory. In 2016, he bought out his working years and was introduced to Peking University Guanghua School of Management as a security guard.
After being assigned to the first building of the college, he and another colleague worked in groups and took a day off every 24 hours of duty. When it was his turn to be on duty, Cai Zhijian came to take over at 8:00 a.m., and stood guard at the front desk in the foyer of Building No. 1 during the day, checking the documents of entry and exit personnel, lost and found, and had to be managed; at 10:30 p.m., the building closed, and he began to conduct fire safety and anti-theft inspections on each floor. Shortly before Cai Zhijian became popular, Zhang Juncheng, the former security guard of Peking University, also entered people's vision - the small security guard of the year has now grown into the principal of a vocational school.
More than 20 years ago, Zhang Juncheng, who was less than 20 years old, came to Beijing from his hometown of Changzhi, Shanxi, and then entered Peking University as a security guard. When he stood guard, he met many foreigners who came to visit Peking University, and because they could not understand English, they could not answer the questions consulted by the other party, and they were in a hurry.
Excited, Zhang Juncheng decided to use his free time to start learning English from scratch.
