Recently, Mr. Shen Peng, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and honorary chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, who is over 90 years old, was invited and listened to a briefing on the reconstruction and opening of the East Building in Yibin, Sichuan Province. It has injected cultural elements into the landmark building of Yibin, which has been full of cultural elements for thousands of years, and has left a strong mark for Yibin, a cultural city with a history of more than 2,200 years, and has become a new cultural highlight of the first city of the Yangtze River and even the land of Bashu.
According to the Qing "Yibin County Chronicle" volume 13 "Chronicle of Monuments": "Donglou, Zhidong, Tang Jian, Du Fu has a poem "Yanrong Prefecture Yang Envoy Jundong Lou". "Yibin East Building was built in the Tang Dynasty, and the original site is located on the Minjiang River outside the East Lou Street in the downtown area of Yibin. In the ninth year of Tang Yongtai (765 AD), Du Fu traveled east along the Min River, passing through rongzhou (present-day Yibin), the capital city of the Yangtze River, and the then rongzhou assassin Shi Yang set up a banquet in the east building to entertain Du Fu with local famous wines, chongbichun and fresh lychees. Du Fu was touched by the master's hospitality, and improvised the poem "Yan Rong Zhou Yang Lingjun East Building": "Victory is absolutely shocking, and the emotion is forgotten and excited." Sit in a prostitute from song, happy to be the master. Heavy green spring wine, light red lychee. The height of the building is sad, and the horizontal flute has not been blown. Since then, the East Building has become famous all over the world and has become a place where the literati of all generations have gathered elegantly. In the third year of Tang Huichang (843), due to the flooding of the Jinsha River, the city of Rongzhou was destroyed, and the East Building was inevitable. After experiencing the reconstruction of the East Building many times in the Dynasty, until the Republic of China, there was still the "Yang Ling Lou" named after the poem title, and its original site street name is still called "East Lou Street", which was destroyed by fire in the spring of 1949.
In 2018, on the occasion of the 2200th anniversary of the founding of Yibin City, the Yibin Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government of the Communist Party of China decided to relocate the East Building to Daxikou in the east of the main urban area of Yibin in order to meet the needs of the expansion of Yibin City and the improvement of the perspective of beauty.
