The First Session of the Eighth People's Congress of Haikou Meilan District Closed Wu Shengjiao was elected as the district chief

Haikou Net, 30 Nov (Reporter Chen Jie, Special Correspondent Liang Chongping, Correspondent Wang Pingzhao, Chen Weijiao) On 30 November, after successfully completing various agendas, the first session of the Eighth People's Congress of Meilan District of Haikou City was closed. The meeting elected the members of the new Standing Committee of the District People's Congress, the leading group of the District People's Government, the director of the District Supervision Commission, the president of the District People's Court, and the chief procurator of the District People's Procuratorate, and at the same time elected the representatives of Meilan District to the 17th People's Congress of Haikou City.

The meeting elected Wu Shengjiao as the mayor of the Meilan District People's Government and Hu Yuheng as the chairman of the Meilan District People's Congress Standing Committee. The meeting elected Lin Zhigang, Yang Liufang, Han Yu, and Zhan Daojun as vice chairmen of the Meilan District People's Congress Standing Committee; Wang Hui, Liu Yang, He Wei, Liu Na, Tang Dianguang, and Gan Ping as vice district chiefs of the Meilan District People's Government; Wang Jifeng as chairman of the Meilan District Supervision Commission; Chen Yunfeng as president of the Meilan District People's Court; Fu Zheng as chief procurator of the Meilan District People's Procuratorate; and reported to the chief procurator of the Haikou City People's Procuratorate for approval by the Haikou City People's Congress Standing Committee. The meeting also elected 26 members of the Standing Committee of the Eighth People's Congress of Meilan District and voted to approve the list of chairmen, vice chairmen and members of the Social Construction Committee of the Eighth People's Congress of Meilan District. At the meeting, the elected take an oath to the Constitution.

Zhu Jun, secretary of the Meilan District CPC Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. He said: The just-concluded Eighth Congress of the CPC Haikou Meilan District has established the guiding ideology for meilan district's economic and social development in the next five years and has clearly defined the goals and tasks for the current and future periods. It is hoped that the newly elected comrades will conscientiously perform their duties and responsibilities with an attitude of being highly responsible for the cause of the party and the people, take the initiative to take action, and contribute their wisdom and strength to the realization of the "14th Five-Year Plan", the promotion of high-quality development of Meilan, and the benefit of the people of Meilan. Party committees at all levels should further strengthen and improve their leadership over the work of the people's congresses and truly attach importance to them ideologically, trust them in their work, and respect them in decision-making. The "one government, one committee, and two procuratorates" must consciously accept supervision, conscientiously implement the resolutions and decisions of the people's congresses and their standing committees, conscientiously listen to the suggestions, criticisms, and opinions of the people's congress deputies and the broad masses, and constantly improve their work. Zhu Jun demanded that the vast number of cadres and all the deputies to the people's congress in the whole region should adhere to the party's leadership, focus on the overall situation of development, adhere to the supremacy of the people, strengthen their own construction, concentrate on seeking development, grasp implementation without distraction, and make new contributions in the great journey of speeding up the construction of a modern, international, and happy new Meilan.
