Jurgen Klopp claimed Mosalah was "angry" in the Liverpool dressing room after wednesday's 4-1 win over Everton.
With the Toffee being completely overtaken, Salah's two goals were sandwiched between Jordan Henderson's opener and Diogo Chota's 79th-minute strike.
DeMare Gray briefly rewritten the score to 2-1 before halftime – their first goal in a month – but the gap between classes and applications was huge, with home supporters flocking to the exit when the fourth goal went in.
However, Klopp revealed that despite the victory, Salah was still angry and the Egyptians wanted to stage a hat-trick.
"He was angry after the game! He wanted to make it to the third," Klopp said. "I don't take these things for granted. His second goal, you have to force this mistake.
"Don't let Summers Coleman bear the pressure to win that ball and from then on, it was a great opportunity for him to score. We have motivation, but it's my best performance since I played for Goodison Liverpool.
"Before the game people told me that the form or shape of the derby doesn't count and I think it's completely different."
Klopp added: "Our moment in football in the first half was incredible. We were in control at the end of half.2 We showed the boys two or three situations and the way they defended and we could have sent Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah away more on a one-on-one basis.
"Except for a moment, every boy's performance is nine out of ten. However, we should not take this for granted. It's all about boys. Overall, it was a pretty good show. ”
Liverpool duo Virgil Van Dijk and Thiago Alcantara were seriously injured last time they were at Goodison Park, but Klopp was proud of their performance.
"They're obviously human," Klopp continued. "The last time we were here we were seriously injured twice. We're like a family, and when someone gets seriously injured, you walk into the locker room and you feel it.
"Virgil handled it very well, just like Thiago. All boys do that because you can get emotional. ”
