#Changyou Yibin # "Southwest Half Wall" is from Wei Gao.

Wei Gao (魏皋), courtesy name Wu (746-806), was a native of Jingzhao Wannian (present-day Xi'an), a famous courtier in the middle of the Tang Dynasty, an official to the Inspector Ofs and Zhongshu Ling, and the King of Nankang County, so he was also known as Wei Nankang. He was the envoy of Jiannan Nishikawa Andibu and the governor of Rong Prefecture for three years.

When Wei Gao marched into Nanzhao along the Shimen Road, he passed through Shicheng Mountain, which stood on the banks of the Shimen River (Hengjiang River).

He lamented the majesty of Shicheng Mountain, and thought that his responsibility to guard the southwest frontier was as great as a mountain, so he wrote a poem "Yong Shicheng Mountain": Who opened up shicheng gate? More drums misheard the wind falling stones. Jietian Bailing won the Golden Tang and suppressed the southwest half of the heavens.

Today, the "Southwest Half Wall" horizontal plaque written by Gu Ruxiu, a famous scholar and calligrapher of the Qing Dynasty, took the verse "Suppressing the Southwest Half Wall" and still hangs under the eaves of the third floor of the west of the Grand View Building, a landmark classical building in Yibin City.

"Southwest Half Wall" four characters, the font is elegant and smooth, handsome and vigorous. Gu Ruxiu selected four words in the closing sentence of this poem to reflect the views and opinions of the people of the time on the history of Yibin.

The Grand View Building we see today was rebuilt in the year of Qianlong (1765).

The Grand View Building is divided into four floors, with stone masonry on the ground floor and a cross-shaped passage inside, which can accommodate the passage of cars and horses. The upper three layers of the whole series of bucket arch structure, four corner cornices, volleying head, majestic and majestic, quite Tang Dynasty style.

During his stay in Rongzhou, Wei Gao also opened up Tianchi in the west of the city as a playground, and left a poem "Tianchi Evening Sun": Yuji Pond business is sufficient, and who sings lotus songs among the flowers. The boat floats ten miles of lotus incense, and the song makes a sound of green landscape. Spring warm fish throw water surface, evening sun heron libo heart jade. The buckle ship returns to the moon at dusk until it is deeper without false candles.

Tianchi

Tianchi, located in the western suburbs of Yibin City, also known as Dianchi Lake and Lingbo Pond, has now been set up as Tianchi Park.

In the Tang Dynasty, the Tianchi pond was lined with boulders, shaped like a bridge, and divided the pond into two, the inner pool was one mile wide and five miles long; the outer pool was one mile wide and three miles long, and the water depth was several zhang.

The cause of Tianchi is either formed by the change of the jinsha river channel, or it is caused by the earthquake falling. Because its land is a swamp and cannot be cultivated, Wei Gao planted lotuses everywhere according to local conditions, built pavilions and pavilions, and opened up Tianchi into a place for leisure and recreation such as boat swinging, lotus viewing, and fishing.

Every summer, the inner and outer heavenly pools are full of lotus flowers, purple and white flowers are large and delicate, curly and open, fragrant and clean, the lotus root produced is slightly sweet and crisp, refreshing slag, for the famous specialties of Rongzhou.

The beauty of Tianchi has been praised by people since the Tang and Song dynasties.

The "Chronicle of Xuzhou Prefecture", which was written during the Kangxi Dynasty of the Qing Dynasty, lists "Tianchi Xizhao" as one of the eight scenic spots in Yibin, and its accompanying poem (prologue) says: "Tianchi evening illumination, Qing is seen, and the palace buildings of Gaicheng are illuminated." Gu Shiyun: The pond stores shallow water, and there are mirages. Where the sunset is, the first continent of the five mountains."

Che Shentian of Ren yibinzhi County during the Light Years of the Qing Dynasty has a poem "Tianchi Evening Illumination": a piece of oblique sun color, clear waves swinging painting boat. Look at the new purple, countless distant peaks blue. Ya's back is turned over. Fish scales are fishy. The most pitiful red, the shadow is full of front Ting.
