The new typesetting "Lover", which will soon open the curtain for the Beijing Renyi Stage, will land on the Renyi Experimental Theater from November 27. On November 23, director Xu Ang, who has attracted much attention for "Forensic Qin Ming", appeared with actors Lu Fang, Jing Hao and Li Yue.
In 2004, Ren yi premiered the play, and more than ten years later, after the accumulation of stage and film and television, Xu Ang also had a new aesthetic idea, so there was a new interpretation of this foreign classic.
Only one line was moved, and the rest was the original of Pinte
"Lover" is the work of Nobel Prize winner Harold Pinter, which is different from the expression of traditional realist drama, and the work uses absurd-looking stories and symbolic plot designs to make the audience feel a strong sense of drama between reality and fiction. Xu Ang, who has experience in the localization of many foreign works, will have a new attempt this time, "The author has very life-like lines, which can neither be complicated nor exaggerated." By re-translating the script, we returned to the author's wishes and maintained the unique face of his language. ”
It is reported that the text has undergone a relatively large change in this rehearsal, "Over the years we have been using the translated version, we did not have the courage to take the English version to re-compare, and this time, we recompiled and combed the script, only moved a line, the other is the original of Pinte, but also closer to the original appearance of Pinte." In Xu Ang's view, an important reason why the author won the Nobel Prize in Literature is his use of language, through the corresponding translation between short sentences and short sentences in the play, taking into account the ideography and rhythm of language, which can better allow Chinese audiences to recognize and understand the original appearance of this work.
A home floor plan is reproduced on stage, giving the audience a sense of voyeurism
In the new row of famous works, Xu Ang chose to "go to complexity and simplicity", in his opinion, compared with his original creation, this time he wanted to get rid of more technical things, showing a more pure perspective of the people in the play. "At the beginning of the row in 2004, I didn't do a good job due to the limitations of my own life and age, and over the years I had some experience and the idea of rearranging." This time, the traditional viewing relationship between the actors facing the audience is broken, so that the actors do not seek feedback from the audience in most cases, but communicate more with the opponents, and the audience becomes a third-party bystander to watch a game in which a couple jumps in and out of the play. "The small theater itself has more possibilities," xu Ang said, and as a stage designer, he also used the point light source in life to replace some of the stage light effects and create a real life scene. A family floor plan is copied on the stage, giving the audience a sense of voyeurism, but also bringing a new viewing experience to the audience. Xu Ang said, "This form of expression on the stage is a look that is not usually seen in film and television or mobile phones, and there is a feeling of watching mobile movies." These years of film and television experience have made me firm in some beliefs, and the theater is a place where you can break habits and allow you to trial and error, and working outside of renyi has let me know how rare the stage of renyi is. ”
Romantic and cool atmosphere like a literary film
Whether it is the loneliness in people's hearts or the dilemma of emotional life in marriage, "Lover" does not just stay in the performance of life phenomena, but focuses on the spiritual level of people, so that the audience can reflect on their own lives. In the play, a room, a set of sofas, and two protagonists - the male protagonist Richard portrayed by Jing Hao and the heroine Sarah played by Lu Fang, all give people a strong sense of artistic restoration, which is also the first time that the two have cooperated in a small theater. In the romantic and cold atmosphere like a literary film, the two actors reproduce the inner search of people in the marriage relationship through the transformation between different identities and different roles, making this game seem real and absurd. Scenes that seem to be far away from life give people a sense of empathy that they are very close to life, "We are not solving problems, but facing and examining problems." Xu Ang said.
