According to Indian media reports, recently, the Indian media conducted a survey on tap water in the capital New Delhi and found that Delhi people are not drinking water, but drinking "poison".

The Indian journalist wrote: Imagine you go to someone's house and they bring you a glass of water. Most of the time, you'll drink this water, but then you know that the water is dirty, and even if you take a bath inside, you may get sick, let alone drink it. And this deception happened to millions of people in Delhi.
A team from a media outlet in India collected water samples from 11 locations in Delhi and tested them in an independent laboratory, 9 of which were substandard. If this is used on this basis, it can be concluded that 80 per cent of the water provided to delhi residents is not suitable for drinking.
So, imagine if this were the state of the Indian capital, what would be the situation in the rest of the country? These tested areas include those in the south of Delhi where houses worth hundreds of millions of rupees are available, but even these places do not have drinkable drinking water, and drinking water is not qualified just three kilometres from the Indian Parliament Building.
Currently, the bottled water market in India is around Rs 280 billion and will rise to more than Rs 400 crore by 2023. Indians allegedly spend Rs 650 crore on water purifiers a year. In 2019, the Indian government launched a programme of around Rs 36,000 crore to provide clean drinking water to every household in India through a tap.
That said, the people and government of India spend more than Rs 4 trillion a year on finding clean water, almost equivalent to India's defence budget. However, people still do not get access to clean water.
Therefore, water that seems to be free to use at will is not. When a guest comes to your house, you don't charge him for drinking water, and you throw away the rest of the water if he doesn't drink it. However, if you go to the market, you will have to spend money to drink water. In a city like Delhi, if you drink water from your home tap, you'll have to pay for it in the form of a disease.
When the team took water samples from 11 different areas in Delhi and tested them in a private laboratory, it found that water samples in 9 of them did not meet the standard. According to the standards of the Indian Bureau of Standards, the amount of TDS should be up to 500. TDS refers to minerals and substances dissolved in water. A small amount of TDS is good for the body because it contains minerals, but according to the World Health Organization, if the TDS in a liter of water exceeds 300, it is not good for health, while in India, TDS as high as 500 is even drinkable. But in Delhi, nine of the 11 substandard areas with substandard water samples had TDS levels of more than 500. The water in 4 of these places is even dirtier and more poisonous than the Yamuna River in Delhi.
According to doctors, if TDS exceeds 500, it is not even suitable for bathing, let alone drinking. Water high in TDS can cause diarrhea, kidney infections, stomach infections, fever and vomiting, and may also have skin infections. Long-term drinking of this water can also lead to diseases such as cancer.
