The Ministry of Water Resources announced on the 19th that since 2018, when the "four chaos" (random occupation, random mining, random piling, and random construction) and other prominent problems in the management and protection of rivers and lakes were carried out, a total of 185,000 "four chaos" problems were cleaned up and rectified nationwide, more than 40 million square meters of illegal construction were demolished and encroached upon rivers and lakes, 30,000 kilometers of illegal occupation of shoreline were cleaned up, more than 40 million tons of garbage in the river were removed, more than 10,000 kilometers of illegal embankments were removed, and more than 11,000 illegal sand mining vessels were cracked down, and the "four chaos" problem was effectively curbed. At the same time, the Ministry of Water Resources announced 10 typical cases of "qing si chaos" in rivers and lakes, such as the illegal low siege case of SaiHu Lake under Dongting Lake in Hunan Province.
