The gate of Huilongtan Park

Huilongtan Park covers an area of more than 70 acres, named after the Huilongtan excavated in the sixteenth year of the Ming Dynasty (1588). The pond is composed of the five rivers of Hengli River, Xinqu, Yenujing, Tangjiabang and Nanyangshubang, which are like five long dragons winding and stretching. There is a small island built in the Ming Dynasty, called Yingkui Mountain, and there is a pavilion named Lingyun Pavilion on the top of the mountain, which can overlook the panoramic view of Huilongtan. In the seventeenth year of the Republic of China (1928), the Jiading County Popular Education Museum converted the beautiful scenery of Huilongtan, Yingkui Mountain, Kuixing Pavilion, and the nearby Confucius Temple into a park, named "Kuishan Park", which is the predecessor of Huilongtan Park and the earliest park in Jiading. In the decades that followed, many of the park's attractions were destroyed or damaged. In the 1970s, Shanghai and Jiading County invested together to expand the land based on the remnants of Kuishan Park, move in or restore some antiquities and buildings, and named it "Huilongtan Park".
