And each nickname also hides a mystery.
For example, there are two whirlwinds on Liangshan, one is the small whirlwind Chai Jin, and the other is the black whirlwind Li Kui. Chai Jin is the first nobleman of Liangshan, Li Kui is the first mangy man of Liangshan, so different, why are the nicknames all whirlwinds? Two explanations.
First: from the perspective of the development of the story, the black whirlwind Li Kui is a small whirlwind chai into liangshan. Because Li Kui killed Yin Tianxi, it was the beginning of Chai's entry into Liangshan. And what is even more interesting is that Li Kui is Song Jiang's first confidant, and Chai Jin is Song Jiang's strongest competitor, is this proof that the reason why Chai Jin lost to Song Jiang was actually "black" by Song Jiang?
Second: small is the initial end, black is strong, indicating the development stage of the whirlwind. Now, shouldn't it be a compliment to Water Margin? Fun, interesting, hidden connotations. Because as we all know, the tower has the function of a town demon, and now that the Tota Heavenly King has received a box lunch, Liangshan has naturally become the world of the "Chaos Demon King". Is this not: the demon king does not come out, and the king of heaven does not retreat? It's just that the real demon king is not Fan Rui but Song Jiang!
Why was Chao Gai kicked out of the circle of the 108 generals of Liangshan by Song Jiang? He couldn't help but kick out, could he still let Chao Gai calm down? Song Jiang is more refined than anyone! But in any case, the Water Margin nickname has connotations, but the information and functions it carries are limited.
For example, the flower monk Lu Zhishen, the most important content of his nickname, is to show his tattoo pattern and highlight the unusual appearance of this monk. But he couldn't point out the subtlety of Lu Zhi's deep silence into a Buddha.
There is also the walker Wu Song, nickname meaning, both the attribute of the head, but also represents the water margin ascetic path of Wu Song, because in the end he will eventually become a "Qing Zhongzu Ancestor" after all the ascetics. But in this way, the famous Wu Song broke his arm, and the walker could not carry it.
So what to do in this situation? "Water Margin" naturally has a way, doesn't it say at the beginning that 108 good men are all magic stars? Since it is a magic star, it must correspond to its star name. Therefore, the star names of the good men of Liangshan suddenly showed their power.
Third, start with the "rich duo"
Why did Chai Jin live a rich and leisurely life? Why did Li Ying walk around Liangshan and then go back to be a rich man? Look at the names of the stars of the two. Chai Jin is a celestial star, and Li Ying is a tianfu star! Obviously, the two are the "rich duo" on Liangshan. The natural ending was perfect.
There must be Li Jun, who finally became a king overseas, why did he achieve such a high level? Li Jun's nickname: Mixed River Dragon, Star Name, Heavenly Life Star. The so-called dragon into the sea. The benevolent person lives, so it can be long, and the benevolent person is invincible, so he has become a king overseas!
Now understand Li Jun's special, although his story is thin in "Water Margin" and the role is not brilliant, but Shi Nai'an uses a nickname and a star name to hint at everything about him!
So why did Wu Song break his arm? Let's first look at the description of Wu Song's broken arm: Bao Tianshi was on a horse, saw Wu Song make two swords, walked straight to Zheng Biao, Bao Daoyi pulled out the Xuantian Mixed Yuan Sword into the sheath, flew down from the air, and was cutting Wu Song's left arm, and fainted with blood. However, Lu Zhishen had a Zen staff, and when he entered it with anger and saved Wu Song, he had already cut it from his left arm, but he had seized his Mixed Yuan Sword. Wu Song woke up and saw that his left arm had been broken, and the sword was about to be broken, and he cut off the sword with one shot.
The author's understanding is that for Wu Song, ordinary good men can't hurt him at all, so this is why Wu Song counterattacks again and again in desperate situations. The only thing that could cause damage to Wu Song was from the sky (flying down from the air and cutting off Wu Song's left arm), and Wu Song broke his arm.
Let's look at Wu Song's star name, which is the "Heavenly Wound Star". So-called: The one who goes against the sky will eventually be hurt by heaven! It can be said that there is already a hint!
So what is Lu Zhi's emphasis on becoming a Buddha? First of all, let's look at the description of Lu Zhi's deep death: burning a good incense, putting the paper on the Zen bed, folding two feet, putting the left foot on the right foot, and natural nature vacates. This is actually a portrayal of Lu Zhishen's encounter in the Water Margin River. Because he always came to save people all the way, but he always went all the way alone, even if he had Wu Song later, it was still the same.
For example, in order to save Shi Jin, Lu Zhishen ignored the persuasion of Wu Song and Zhu Wu and entered Huazhou alone. Therefore, Lu Zhishen's star name is: Heavenly Lone Star!
Nicknamed the flower monk, but always "borrowed flowers to offer Buddha" by others, the wild boar Lin saved Lin Chong, but was betrayed by Lin Chong with a word. Together with Yang Zhi, he laid down ErlongShan, but Yang Zhi sold Erlongshan to Liangshan with a word. Entered Liangshan, but was betrayed to the imperial court by Song Jiang...
In the face of so many betrayals, Lu Zhishen is like a naked son, helping the poor and relieving the poor, regardless of any personal gains and losses. Therefore, in the whole Water Margin, no one is more lonely than Lu Zhishen. However, because of his loneliness, he achieved the height of Lu Zhishen, and before he died, he said, "Today Fang fang knows that I am me", which is a great realization.
