The Shanghai Changning District Education Bureau apologized to the public for the "Improper Mental Health Questionnaire" question

In the Parents Committee of the Primary School of Shanghai Bao Yugang Experimental School, a "Proposal on The Mental Health Survey of Primary and Secondary Schools in Changning District" was submitted to the Changning District Education Bureau, which clearly pointed out that "students reported that the content of the questionnaire was inappropriate". The Parents Committee quoted professional psychological practitioners as saying that the questionnaire inappropriately quoted the Beck Suicidal Ideation Scale, and in the fourth part of the questionnaire (58-67 mandatory questions) and the fifth part (68-95 multiple questions), the Beck Suicidal Ideation Scale was fully quoted, in which there were inappropriate questions such as whether to die, how to die, when to die, and written or not. Parents even found a definition of the original Beck Suicidal Ideation Scale in English, which translated and concluded that the questionnaire was aimed at patients at risk of suicide. The Parents Committee raised many objections in the proposal and asked the Changning District Education Bureau to explain.

Previously, according to the website of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Education recently replied to the "Proposal on Further Implementing the Prevention and Treatment Measures for Adolescent Depression" of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, which clearly included depression screening into the content of student health examinations, established student mental health files, assessed students' mental health conditions, and paid close attention to students with abnormal assessment results.
