Born in 1911, a native of Biyang, Henan, he graduated from Peking Mei College, and was instructed by Xu Yansun, Chen Yuandu, and Guan Pinghu to follow the Tang and Song dynasties, Fa Wu Daozi, Li Gonglin, Jian Xi Shanshui, Fa Juran, Zi Jiu, and Zhonggui. Try to paint the Shu Dao Wanli Picture Scroll, the Xiongguan Dangerous Stack, and the Mountains and Rivers. After going to Taipei, he was a resident member of the Aesthetic Education Committee of the Ministry of Education and the director of the fine arts group of the Taiwan Art Education Museum. He has taught at Taipei Normal University, The Institute of Arts of Bunka University, the College of Arts, and the Taichung Normal School. Tutor of the Painting Society, Standing Supervisor of the Calligraphy Society, Honorary Director of the Fine Arts Association. Good at ink painting, specializing in landscapes. In 1965, he won the first Zhongshan Literature and Art Award, and in 1988, he won the Special Contribution Award for Cultural Construction of the Literary and Art Foundation. He is the author of "The Origin of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy", "Commentary on the History of Chinese Painting" and other books.
