According to the brief introduction provided to the media by Xihai Coal Development Co., Ltd. on the evening of the 14th, the company's production of raw coal is mainly sold to Tanghu Electric Power Branch, and it also undertakes the winter heating coal task of the masses and administrative institutions in the surrounding counties of Haiyan County, Xihai Town, Gangcha County, Qilian County and Menyuan County, and the remaining raw coal is sold throughout the country.
According to the data, Xihai Coal Development Co., Ltd. currently has 4 production mines and 1 mine under construction, the production mines are Qaidal Mine, Hightower Mine, Chaidar Pioneer Coal Mine, Møller 3 Mine, and the mine under construction is Murra 2 Mine. The design production capacity of the Chaidar coal mine in the accident is 900,000 tons / year, the recoverable reserves are 71.446 million tons, the service life is 45 years, the renovation and expansion project began in September 2003, and it was completed and put into operation in September 2009.

At about 23:00 on the 14th, three medical rescue insulation tents were set up at the entrance of the accident mine. The staff of the Gangcha County Health Bureau quickly put first aid equipment such as ventilators, defibrillators, and oxygen tubes into the tent.
"At present, there are 129 medical staff and 18 ambulances on the scene, and we are ready to rescue the critically ill patients in the first time and place them in these three temporary rescue tents, so that the critically ill patients can receive simple treatment in time." Ying Zhou, secretary of the party group and director of the Gangcha County Health and Construction Bureau, said.
In the early morning of the 15th, Haibei Prefecture of Qinghai Province held its first press conference at the Headquarters of Chaidar Coal Mine, after the official notification of the "coal mine mud collapse accident" was changed to "roof accident".
Yin Maowen, vice governor of Haibei Prefecture, said: "Due to the existence of major safety hazards, the mine was ordered by the Qinghai Coal Regulatory Bureau to stop production and rectify on August 2, and the safety production license was temporarily withheld, and the hidden danger investigation and rectification were being carried out. ”

A rescue worker told the media reporter at the scene that the mud poured more than 70 meters at the site of the accident, and the vertical distance from the ground was more than 90 meters, and the rescue was extremely difficult.
At about 3:40 a.m., Huang Yuzhi, vice minister of China's Emergency Management Department and director of the State Mine Safety Supervision Bureau, and Li Jiexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Qinghai Provincial Party Committee and executive vice governor of Qinghai Province, entered the entrance of the accident site to conduct on-site inspections.
