Young Marshal Guo Zhongchang

Shen Bow

Guo Zhongchang, who became famous as a teenager, is the only chess player in Qinzhou who has seen the big trend twice in the national competition. At present, the most active chess player in the Chinese chess world, Li Laiqun, Zhao Guorong, Jiang Quansheng, Yu Youhua Bu Fengbo, Zhang Yingfu, Deng Songhong, Lin Hongmin, etc., have played against them in the national competition, and have won and lost against each other, leaving a deep impression.

As early as 1975, Huang Guodi, the first master of Guangxi, returned to Qinzhou Province with his proud apprentice. The chess master deliberately tried the horse and deliberately let his apprentice challenge the Qinzhou chess player, and it was indeed a famous master out of the high apprentice. Huang Guodi's apprentice, who was only 12 years old, was indeed very good, and many masters who were called Qinzhou at that time were picked off the horse. At the time when this 12-year-old teenager was flaunting his might, the face-loving Qinzhou people also thought of using the juvenile-to-teenager tit-for-tat method, launched the 15-year-old Guo Zhongchang, and posted a big red poster "Young Chess Player Guo Zhongchang and Nanning Chess Player Match" Yunyun. Guo Zhongchang did not live up to expectations, defeating the handsome teenager by a score of 2-1, thus becoming famous in Qinzhou. Since then, a new atmosphere has emerged in Qinzhou's chess, and the chess circle in Qinzhou has since written a brilliant stroke of Guo Zhongchang.

Young Marshal Guo Zhongchang (Chess Master No. 4)

In July 1976, Guo Zhongchang naturally became a seeded player in Qinzhou County, participated in the regional selection competition, stood out in six counties and one city, and then participated in the selection competition of Guangxi District to attend the National Games, and won the junior championship in one fell swoop, representing Guangxi in the national competition held in Lanzhou in the same year, making great contributions to the Guangxi team to break into the top ten. After the unfortunate death of Mao Zedong, the individual competition was cancelled, leaving a deep regret. By the following year, when Guo Zhongchang attended the All Guangxi Selection Tournament again, he was second due to losing a round due to fever, but the good news was that the Liuzhou player who won the first place just lost to him. By the 1980s, Guo Zhongchang, who had grown into a young man, had reached a higher level of chess skills, and in 1986 he represented the Guangxi Financial Chess Team on an expedition to Hohhot, and Guo Zhongchang ranked ninth. In each subsequent financial system competition, Guo Zhongchang's ranking was within the top three. By the time of the All-District Games held in Nanning in October this year, Guo Zhongchang's financial team won the second place in the team and the seventh place in the individual.

When the author mentioned that you have neither the guidance of a famous teacher nor the special training, what do you rely on to improve your chess? Guo Zhongchang talked about one of his teenage friends with infinite affection called Zeng Xiabin. Zeng Xiabin and Guo Zhongchang lived together on Zhongshan Road, they were both neighbors, classmates and friends, and together they went to Riverbank Park to watch people play chess, and later the two often played against each other, until 1980, before settling in Hong Kong, Zeng Xiabin played an important role as a sparring partner. The two men's chess skills complement each other. Guo Zhongchang said infinitely affectionately that without Zeng Xiabin's game, I am afraid that I would not have my championship career.

Guo Zhongchang's chess skills in recent years are so sophisticated that people will not forget that last year, the Municipal Sports Commission and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China set up a Chinese chess tournament in the lighting stadium. When Li Chun sat three times in a row, he killed Cheng Jin halfway, and was shot down by a "fishing guy" named Liu Yong, and then a generation of famous players in the Qinzhou chess circle, Pan Chuangluofu, won wei Haiqing Lu Jianxin and other defeats, and for a time, the Qinzhou chess circle was overshadowed. People are searching and deliberating, who else can defeat this fishing guy and save a little face for the Qinzhou people? He even planned to go to Lingshan to ask the general to move his troops in an attempt to defeat this half-way dark horse. At this time, Guo Zhongchang returned. Naturally, people forced him to play. Guo Zhongchang hurriedly responded to the battle, the first two games of chess were unfavorable, first lost a game, the second set although to save a game, but became a tie, each win a game, then to add a quick game to decide the male and female. And fast chess is Guo Zhongchang's weakness, and it happens to be Liu Yong's strength, with the length of the enemy's short attack, the cloud of failure is densely covered above. Guo Zhongchang took the lead in the red, and then attacked Liu's left Mapan river into the right cannon with a medium cannon crossing the river vehicle. By exchanging soldiers and coercing horses, retreating horses and hitting carts like a series of strong attacks, the whole game of chess is smooth and smooth, and it does not leak in one go. The last one forced the palace to suffocate, and in one fell swoop, he snatched this long-lost champion back from Liu Yong's hands, and gave a long sullen breath for the Qinzhou chess circle, so that the entire chess circle praised each other, Guo Zhongchang, good looking, worthy of a generation of chess marshals!
