According to the Changsha Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, around the major technical needs of the city's economic and social development key areas, since the beginning of this year, Changsha has organized and implemented a number of major scientific and technological projects of "unveiling the commander-in-chief", with a total of 10 project topics, involving key technologies for breeding and regional configuration, key technologies for intelligent hydraulic placement, key technologies for intelligent hydraulic valve control systems, and key technologies for special intelligent sensors for construction machinery.

The project "Key Technologies for Breeding and Regionalization of High-yield and Stable Products of Camellia Oleifera" was led by the Yuelu Mountain Seed Industry Innovation Center and jointly unveiled by the Hunan Academy of Forestry sciences and the Central South University of Forestry and Technology. After the launch of the project, it will organize the establishment of a "production-university-research" model integrating "company + university + scientific research unit", focusing on the bottleneck of breeding and regionalization configuration technology of high-yield and stable product varieties of camellia oleifera, and carry out in-depth research from four aspects, such as the mechanism of functional gene mining and regulation of high-yield camellia oleifera, the creation of excellent germplasm of high-yield camellia oleifera, the breeding of high-yield and stable-yield oleifera varieties, and the regionalization and configuration technology of camellia oleifera.

During the project, a database of camellia oleifera germplasm resources will be established, excellent new germplasm of camellia oleifera will be created, new varieties of high-yield and stable-yield camellia oleifera will be selected and bred in a targeted manner, a technical system of high-yield and stable-yielding camellia will be established, a number of high-yield and stable product varieties will be selected and bred, and a number of technical bottlenecks such as "new generation" of oleifera will be solved, such as the cultivation of seedlings and the difficulty of yield improvement, and the high yield and stable yield of camellia oleifera will be realized through the application of "good seeds + good methods" of camellia oleifera.

Chen Yongzhong, chief expert of the project and vice president of the Provincial Academy of Forestry, introduced that after the implementation of the project, the province will cumulatively promote 300,000 mu of new afforestation, and the application of new varieties and new technologies can increase the production of camellia oleifera forests by more than 30% after the new afforestation is fully produced, and the new output value will reach 4.8 billion yuan, which will effectively promote the high-quality development of 100 billion characteristic industries of camellia oleifera, drive the increase of income of forest farmers, and play a major role in promoting the construction of ecological civilization and rural revitalization.
