Odessa is a city of cinematic art and a mecca for cinematic art. Anyone who has studied the history of cinema will know the "Odessa Ladder", which is located in the middle of the Odessa Black Sea Pier to the semicircular square in the city center, with 192 stone steps and a width of 30 meters. On 9 January 1905, the Tsarist government was on a staircase to suppress peaceful demonstrators, and sailors moored on the battleship Potemkin moored in the port of Odessa revolted and shelled the Tsarist army and government buildings. In 1925, the Soviet film artist Eisenstein made a film on the battleship Potemkin with this historical event.

The film is epic in scale, with both magnificent group portraits and detailed depictions. Rich montage techniques and accurate and appropriate rhythms make this epic film full of passion. The "Odessa Ladder" scene is not only imposing, but also the montage switch fully reflects the thrilling scenes and emotional ups and downs, and is regarded as the pinnacle of the Soviet school of montage. Eisenstein was the founder of the film montage theory, and the film "Battleship Potemkin" is also one of the representative works of the montage theory, which marked an important milestone in the history of the development of soviet montage theory in the world film art. For nearly a hundred years, this film has been recognized as one of the greatest films in the history of world cinema, and today, the "Odessa Ladder" has become a landmark of the city and a holy place for world cinema, and Odessa has become the most famous film city in the former Soviet Union, and chinese audiences are familiar with the movies "Battlefield Romance" and "Odessa's Exploits" and other films are from here. The main reason why I came to Odessa was to make a pilgrimage to this "Odessa Ladder".

Odessa is also a cultural city with a strong artistic atmosphere. This artistic atmosphere is represented by the State Cabaret on the Odessa Steps, one of the most famous opera houses in the world, where Tchaikovsky composed music, Liszt gave piano concerts, and Gogol directed comedies. The theater building is magnificent and ornate, designed by the Austrian architect who designed the Vienna Opera House. Above the exterior of the theater are busts of great Russian playwrights and musicians, among which we know Pushkin, Glinka and Gogol. The interior of the theater is very palatial and exquisite. I came here the night I arrived and watched a ballet "Swan Lake" in the theater, and the ticket price was about 0.2 yuan, which surprised me, because it was the same price as going to the toilet there. Coats and hats are stored in the cloakroom when entering, and when the band conductor walks out, the audience gives a standing ovation, the conductor bows and salutes, and everyone sits down and watches silently. The first time I saw Swan Lake was in the Soviet film Lenin in 1918, and it is said that this passage in the film was almost cut as "yellow" and "bourgeois low-grade fun". The fragments of "Four Little Swans" and "Big Swans and the Prince" in the film became the first understanding of ballet in our time.

When the stage performance ended, the audience did not leave the stage, but all stood up again, the actors took turns to close the curtain, the audience applauded thunderously, and the curtain time lasted more than 20 minutes. I was deeply shocked, I was conquered by their reverence for art, and I was proud of the actors and audiences who lived here. Most of the audiences who come here are parents leading the children, and the art needs to be passed on, and these children have heard and witnessed with the previous generation in this environment, and the art of a nation has been passed down from generation to generation. In this artistic atmosphere, in this interaction between the actor and the audience, my eyes gradually blurred...
