Oda Nobunaga was known as one of the Three Masters of the Japanese Sengoku Period, or the first of the Three Masters of the Japanese Sengoku, for his extraordinary achievements in his life; although he was known as the "Fool of Owari" in his early years because of his stubborn nature, his father always felt that he was an extraordinary person, so he never changed his mind to establish an heir; immediately after Oda Nobunaga succeeded to the throne, he suppressed the instability in the family by thunderous means, and then expanded outwards, and controlled the Owari Kingdom at a very fast speed.
After expelling the Owari clan, Oda Nobunaga led the Oda clan to formal domination of the Owari kingdom. Although Owari Kingdom was not large and the land was not fertile, its unique geographical location was very suitable for business, so Oda Nobunaga did not have to worry about money at all. He then killed the Tokaido overlord Imakawa Yoshimoto and allied himself with Tokugawa Ieyasu of the Mikawa Kingdom to solve his worries; then he sent troops to Mino Province, and after occupying Mino Province, he was invited by Ashikaga Yoshiaki to send troops to "Kamigara".
After he defeated the Rokkaku clan that was holding him back and subdued the miyoshi trio and Matsunaga Hidehisa, he proclaimed Yoshiaki Toshi Yoshiaki as the 15th generation general; Ashikaga Yoshiaki, in order to "thank" Oda Nobunaga, persuaded Oda Nobunaga to take the position of deputy general; how clever was Oda Nobunaga, how could he not have guessed Ashikaga Yoshiaki's careful thoughts? Although it is true that he is very moved, if he really wants to become a deputy general, he will really be pinched by Ashikaga Yoshiaki everywhere, and he will also be besieged by other daimyōs; in short, there are many drawbacks, and the advantage is that it looks good.
So Oda Nobunaga did not hesitate to refuse, but he also saw through Ashikaga Yoshiaki and began to be wary of Ashikaga Yoshiaki everywhere; although Ashikaga Yoshiaki's ability was very general and he had no strength, he was a shogun after all, and he also liked to play small tricks. To tell the truth, Oda Nobunaga was still very good to Ashikaga Yoshiaki; when Miyoshi and Matsunaga Hidehisa betrayed him and besieged Ashikaga Yoshiaki, Oda Nobunaga quickly led his army to the rescue in the snow.
Although the matter was resolved, many of the repeated villains were executed by him, and the Miyoshi trio and Matsunaga Hidehisa surrendered again, and he also succeeded in expanding his power in Kiuchi. But in hindsight, it was still fearful, if the three good trio and Matsunaga Hidehisa succeeded, then he would be equivalent to the failure of "Shangluo". Moreover, Ashikaga Yoshiaki has always been not honest, so he simply restricted Ashikaga Yoshiaki's power as a shogun; Ashikaga Yoshiaki, although very dissatisfied, had to agree, and the contradictions between the two began to become apparent.
However, Ashikaga Yoshiaki still existed as a shogun of the Muromachi shogunate, and the treatment and benefits he enjoyed were as many, and Oda Nobunaga was still very respectful to him, at least on the surface. However, during a crusade against the Echizen Daimyo Asakura Yoshikei, he was attacked by his brother-in-law, Omi Kuni Daimyo Asai Nagamasa, and almost destroyed his entire army; it is said that when Oda Nobunaga returned to Kyoto, there were only about a dozen people left, which shows how dangerous the situation is. Just as Oda Nobunaga was in danger, the shogun Ashikaga Yoshiaki jumped out again.
Ashikaga Yoshiaki issued an order to overthrow Oda Nobunaga, including Asakura Yoshiaki, Asai Nagamasa, Takeda Shingen, Maori Keiki, Miyoshi, and even the temple forces of Hieizan Enri-ji Temple, Ishiyama Honganji Temple, and Zaga-ji, forming a huge "Nobunaga Siege Network". Although Oda Nobunaga was powerful, the tiger was difficult to defeat the wolves, and many of his fierce generals were killed, including his brotherS Oda Nobunaga and Oda Nobunaga, and finally Oda Nobunaga asked Emperor Masanomachi to mediate before temporarily escaping.
However, due to Oda Nobunaga's burning of The Enriji Temple on Mount Hiei, the "Nobunaga Siege Network" was formed again, and among the forces besieging Oda Nobunaga was the equally ambitious Takeda Nobunaga, but fortunately, Takeda Shingen died of illness shortly after the victory of the "Three-Sided Hara Battle". Oda Nobunaga's most feared opponent died, Oda Nobunaga had nothing to fear, and soon put an end to the crisis; and he finally could not stand Ashikaga Yoshiaki's repeated "death" behavior, so he exiled Ashikaga Yoshiaki and no longer established a new shogun.
Since then, the Muromachi shogunate, which ruled Japan for more than two hundred years (in fact, a little more than a year), has since come to an end. However, the exiled Ashikaga Yoshiaki did not stop there, he went to the powerful Mori clan and hoped that the Mori clan would help him "Shangluo"; Maori Keigen was not stupid, naturally refused to agree, but it was not too bad to offend Ashikaga Yoshiaki, so he sent someone to negotiate peace with Oda Nobunaga, in fact, Oda Nobunaga had promised to let Ashikaga Yoshiaki return to Kyoto, but Ashikaga Yoshiaki thought that Oda Nobunaga was afraid, so he had to put forward a request for the return of the hostages, and the negotiations broke down...
But Ashikaga Yoshiaki did not stop because of this, although he was exiled, but nominally still a shogun, the prestige in Japan is still very high; although Maori Keigen does not take Ashikaga Yoshiaki seriously, only wants to remain neutral, but some people below listened to Ashikaga Yoshiaki's deception and joined the "Nobunaga Encirclement Network", so that Mori Keimoto also had to stand against Oda Nobunaga; fortunately, Maori Keimoto's strength is strong, although he suffered some losses, but Oda Nobunaga could not take him.
This situation continued until Toyotomi Hideyoshi unified Japan, and although Toyotomi Hideyoshi unified Japan, he was born a dalit and had great respect for Ashikaga Yoshiaki, and finally returned to Kyoto.
