At 2 o'clock in the night of the 10th, the garage of the Harbin EMU section was still brightly lit.

The Harbin EMU section is responsible for the maintenance tasks of 98 groups of EMUs such as Harbin Bureau Group Co., Ltd., such as Harbin University, Haqi and Hamu, and because it is located in the alpine zone, the ice melting and snow removal of the winter EMUs has become the most important work. In fact, as early as before the arrival of the heavy snowstorm, the Harbin EMU section has organized 352 party members to set up a snow clearing commando team, using tools such as ice melting and snow removal devices of the alpine high-speed railway, high-pressure hot water snow clearing vehicles, etc., to fully ensure the efficiency of the EMU on the line.

The CRH5A and CRH380BG EMU chassis that have been put into storage are half a meter thick with ice, which makes the quality inspector Cui Yongming's brow lock. After the base frame of the EMU is frozen by ice and snow, it will affect the efficiency of the maintenance operation, and in two hours, the EMU will be put online, and the time is very urgent.

This time the ice and snow were thick and viscous, and it was very difficult to clean up, and the ice cubes that rushed down crackled to Cui Yongming's face, and the ice water went down the cuffs to the sleeves, and the clothes were soaked with ice water. Since the night of November 7, Cui Yongming and his colleagues have been working for 60 hours, the snow under their feet has turned into ice water, and their feet are frozen. In the past four days, they have cleared 65 sets of EMUs for ice and snow removal, and cleared more than 400 tons of ice and snow.

Use every detail to ensure the safety of the train

At 8:13 a.m. on November 7, in the cab of the G2656 EMU from Harbin West to Tianjin West, driver Lu Jingxiang held the gate handle, observed the data of the instrument panel at all times, listened to the instructions of the dispatcher, and took measures at any time.

"The catenary is frozen, and the EMU will lose power; the chassis will be snowy, and the brake discs will freeze; the rail area will be iced, and there will be idling during operation." As a high-speed rail driver with 15 years of driving experience, Lu Jingxiang is well aware of the impact of this heavy snowfall on the EMU.

The snow outside the car was beautiful, but Lu Jingxiang did not dare to be distracted. He takes a small-level, slow-loading method to ensure that the EMU starts smoothly, stops, and always pays attention to the changes in the traction of the EMU, through artificial adjustment, inhibits the occurrence of idle rotation in the operation of the train, every time he passes a slope, he will breathe a sigh of relief, and immediately lift the spirit, more than 1200 kilometers away, the nerves are always tight.

At 16:10, when the train arrived at Tianjin West Railway Station safely and smoothly, watching the passengers in the carriage bustling out of the platform, Lu Jingxiang's heart relaxed.

At 23:00 on November 9, at Harbin South Railway Station, the largest railway marshalling station in Heilongjiang Province, the shunting chief standing on the train ladder smelled that he had become a "snowman", working continuously for 4 hours, and his eyebrows were hung with ice beads.

From November 8, the number of coal trains at Harbin South Railway Station began to increase continuously. "At the critical moment of coal supply assurance, the shunting efficiency is one second faster, and the coal transportation time is one minute faster." These are the words that hang in the mouth.

At the Suihua Station more than 120 kilometers away, Wang Shulong, the head of the third shift and the second shunting of the operation workshop, is organizing shunting in the snow and wind, and this night they will send 45 coal trucks to the special line of Datang Suihua Thermal Power Co., Ltd. to ensure the heating of residents in Suihua City. Although it is only 4 kilometers away, it has to pass through 6 groups of hand wrenchs and 1 level crossing, and the operation process is complicated, and it takes two and a half hours to pick up and deliver the car. But Wang Shulong did not have time to rest, facing the snowflakes, they headed for another group of empty cars waiting to be pulled back.

The wind has not stopped, the snow is still falling, and the Ha Tie people are still on the road...
